Mine says B0191-00000 which is 191 hrs. I'd read your hours to be 6,940 hours! Yikes!! Are you sure there is a zero after the 694? On mine there is one letter (A,B,C etc) and 4 numbers. You're showing 1 letter and 5 numbers. Check again and let us know what it reads.

I also had no problem through the Costco website. I just went back and confirmed it's there and it is. Like Sammy2 said, I responded to the email confirmation from ST and scanned and attached my receipt to the email and got confirmation the warranty was received and active. Where did you buy your panel? It could be the retailer is not supported by ST??

Letting my VT60 run it's slides. Still have to watch TV so the ET5 panny IPS sits on the floor waiting to be relieved.

One thing I noticed is it's very easy to leave fingerprints on the VT. I guess you can clean it with regular screen cleaner with worrying about damage???? I would like to hand a sheet or something over the plasma while it does it's 5 day slide show. Any thought on this??

You should relieve it now smile.gif So much time wasted on slides

We got prints when lifting the tv and setting it on the stand. I used the microfiber cloth that came with my ST30 and they came right off, had to hold the tv to keep it from rocking on the pedestal.

This tv doesn't seem to have an AR filter on the outer part of the glass, maybe it's on the inside. Some cleaners will ruin an AR filter so be careful.

I wouldn't cover the tv with a cloth as it may overheat, some folks point a small fan at it to cool it off when doing slides.

You will overheat it unless you allow for ventilation but are you planning to hang a sheet over it during regular usage too?

Yeah, I wrote that different that I remembered it. It's probably a typo. Considering the manufacture date is in May, there's no way 7000 hours is even possible.

Does anyone have a link to sammie2980's settings? I tried searching this thread

Thank you

Use two microfiber (lens quality) cloths to remove fingerprints. One of them should be slightly damp (distilled water used in steam irons), and as you gentle wipe the fingerprints also wipe with the dry cloth to remove moisture. The second cloth will help prevent streaks. Screen cleaners have chemicals that will remove the screen coating along with the finger prints.

If you cover your set while it's on you will turn it into an oven. Excess heat kills electronics. It would be much better for the set to just skip the slides and watch programming that doesn't have fixed images or black bars.

Any of you guys who like to calibrate your own display, how bright can you get the 65VT60 in footlamberts and please state what size window you are using.

55VT60 on stock THX Cinema with 10% GCD windows = 28 ftL, with my first calibration done on Pro1 = 33 ftL. Don't need it to get much brighter than that since typical viewing is in a dim/dark environment.

I'm wondering if there are specific settings for watching 3d? Or are most people using Dnice/Cnet settinds for bluray/3d?

Hey folks can someone point me to the slides and settings post for the 65VT60 please. I am sorry to ask such a searchable question, not sure if this migraine is just making me less intelligent than usual (bad i know) or what......are they not out yet or on another site? i saw on the controlcal forums there are some files is that the only route? If someone can just point me in the right direction i should be fine to take the wheel smile.gif Much appreciated.

Scored a 65VT60 today at BB which will replace my 58V10 with rising MLL!! The V10 will be put in the basement mainly for XBOX use. Looking forward to the VT60 awesome PQ and black levels that don't rise!!!

Yes, the slides are identical.

The settings for the VT (as well as ZT) are only available through the XML files for now, which you can use with ControlCal itself, and it should theoretically be easier to apply all the settings at once via that application than entering them manually. You can view the XML files to see the settings that need to be entered manually. It's not the most intuitive. However, I didn't want to buy the software (money being scarce at the moment) as of yet.

RodChester,

I repeat my question from the other thread.....

Why was this part of the VT60 ControlCAL settings excluded from your listing? The little c in a circle means copyrighted.

I suppose. I'll just delete my post and hope to avoid any trouble.

The trouble you are avoiding is a possible lawsuit for copyright infringement. But that's up to you.

I'm not worried about any lawsuit. If the settings were not meant for the public then they would have never been put up on a public forum. I assume that Dnice and ControlCal came to some mutually beneficial agreement between each other and that is why the settings are only posted there and not any where else. ControlCal gets hits for the settings and Dnice got the hook up on some software maybe.
