JVC DLA-RS56 input needed!

I’m on the verge of buying a JVC DLA-RS56 projector with warranty for an incredible price (under $4,000). I’m wondering what people think about this projector There are not many reviews out there. I believe it is the same as the DLA-X75R projector. I plan to project on a 120” fixed screen made of vinyl with an aluminum frame wrapped in felt with a 1.0 gain. It is a dedicated theater room. Seating will be about 17’ and 23’ from the screen. The projector will be about 16’ from screen and I’m primarily watching 2D movies and regular tv. Please provide input and or suggestions.

A great projector and at 4 grand a pretty good deal. Such a good deal I have to wonder if it is a private sale or if it is an online seller that is not authorized. If they are not authorized you may have issues claiming warranty, and it it does have issues it usually ends up being a massive bill to repair (probably as much as you paid). If it is a private sale I would make sure the person selling it would assist in any warranty issues as warranty is not transferable from what I understand.

As far as performance goes I have about 100 hours on mine now and love it. I had bad convergence, but the included convergence correction tools onboard helped substantially. Not super happy that I had to use zone adjusting but in the long run the picture is still fantastic. Another huge bonus is I have not lost any brightness in that hundred hours which is great news. JVC used a new bulb and power supply this year and it seems to be paying off huge. Seen a guy have 3 hundred hours and claim that the lux readings have gone up! That in my books is priceless. If you have a well controlled room as far as light goes you will enjoy this projector and with the lens shifting you will have no troubles with the location of your seating or screen location.

Turtletrax is exactly correct. JVC warranties are not transferable and the price you listed can not be a new one from an authorized dealer, it is actually too low to be a new one from an UNauthorized dealer. So, if you are buying used follow turtletrax's advice and make sure seller will work with you in sending in for repair if ever needed. I just got my JVC RS40 back from JVC warranty service and you have to provide your original receipt in your name from authorized dealer for warranty to be valid.

That's a great deal then, even on a B-stock. It should work out great for your screen size and viewing preferences.
