Having difficulties playing 3D bluray, not recognizing the source. It shows the inital previews but then loses source any ideas

Samsung TV settings have 3D set to auto
Samsung Bluray set to auto 3D also
everything is running through my Denon 3808CI (might this be this issue, 3D complient?)
regular bluray plays fine

Denon AVR3808CI doesn't support 3D pass through via its HDMI connections.

I just got a Samsung UN60F7050 tv.
All of a sudden when I turn it on the background is red and when the picture comes on there is a red hue around everything till it warms up and the picture is beautiful. At first the background was black when first turned on. Tried unplugging, back to factory settings . Nothing
Any suggestions?

Either should do fine. Of course if you want more audio options, the OPPO BDP-103 is worth checking out.

Thanks, I think the Sony BDP S790 will have to suffice, not willing to pay 500 for a bluray player as it would put me in the ballpark for replacing my Denon 3808CI and that is not necessary.

Try connecting your Blu-ray to the TV directly and then running audio from the TV to your Denon. It could also resolve your issue regarding Smart TV not sending digital audio.

I have all video sources connected via HDMI to the TV and then the audio going from the TV to my Denon 1713 via optical (necessary because my previous receiver did not support HDMI). I have no problem with 3D Blu-ray from my Sony 790 and all Smart TV apps play with digital audio. Netflix is also in multichannel.

I have a UN55F7500. I've been messing around settings lately trying to get a picture that I like the best. When it comes to the Film Mode option it is greyed out and when I try to select it I get a message that this function isn't available. Anyone else have this issue?

what input did you use for your Smart TV apps? Trying to set a profile on my Harmony so I can watch HBO Go on TV.

I just got my Sony BDP-S790 and everything is working great 3D video and audio via HDMI awesome sound.

To program my Harmony 900, I had to tell the remote to choose "USB Input" for the TV to select Smart Hub. I am having issues with the back/exit commands that are combined into the one button on the factory remote. The Harmony uses the "Exit" rather than the "Back" option, so it backs you all the way out of the app. I haven't played around with teaching the Harmony the button though.

HBO Go works mint. Love watching old Sopranos and Entourage episodes.

How should I connect my HTPC to the Samsung TV? Via my Denon Receiver (which supports HDMI passthru and ARC) ? That is actually my current settings.

There are many instances that I want to play a file on my PC without having the Receiver turned on, but I am not able select the HTMI when my receiver is turned off.....
The TV is able to display the HTPC video only if I turn the receiver off during playback of the video but once switch to another input source, the TV will not allow me to select the HDMI where the receiver is connected.

Any experience to share, thanks,

hello i have a question for somebody you has the 60 inch f7500 model, i was wondering if the bezel is the same as the f8000 ( ultra slim almost non-existent)
i saw the f7500 55 inch at sears and the bezel is the same as the f8000, but i dont know if the 60 inch is the same.

Because the bezel on the f7100 for exemple is one size on the 55 inch and another on the 60 inch.(bezel on the 60 inch is wider)

thanks

Hi everybody!

I'm using Cnet's f8000 calibration settings on my f7500 as they are almost the same TV (same panel): http://forums.cnet.com/7723-19410_102-595555/samsung-un55f8000-picture-settings/

I realize that the "movie" mode (recommended by Cnet, and every other calibration for this TV) sacrifices a lot of black level. If I apply the same settings to the "standard" mode the blacks are much much deeper! But I get reddish grays instead.

The standard mode don't let me adjust the 10p White Balance menu (which is grayed out), but even if i turn this off in movie mode, i don't get the reddish grays there.

Adjusting the White Balance helps a little, but i have to get the Red Gain all the way down to 0 and it still doesn't look right. Even with no calibration in both modes it's very much evident the red grays on the "standard" mode. You can turn on the Expert Pattern and switch between modes to see the difference.

What could be happening? Why does movie mode sacrifices blackness? Could you give me feedback about your own TVs, if they also have this red tone over the grays on standard mode?

Thank you very much!

ELIMINATING ON SCREEN MESSAGES

Some of the on screen messages like the one that says there is no source material, check your cables, cause me have havoc for programming my UNC remote. Is there a setting in the 7500 to eliminate those screen messages?

Be interesting to know if this is possible, all of the F series do this. It's quite annoying; especially for those of us who have receivers connected. There have been previous posts about this; I haven't seen a resolution.

I do know with some firmware releases it's been worse, and some better. But none have eliminated it.

2. The F7500 has the 960 clear motion, F8000 has 1200 clear motion.
3. F7500 has Micro Dimming Pro, the F8000 has Micro Dimming Ultimate with Precision Black Local Dimming.

everything else between the 2 set's are the same. I would rather buy the F7500 and save a hundred dollars myself.

Does that include the thin black border around the screen? I've not been able to see an F7500 in person anywhere in my town (Montreal), but that thin border is one of the key reasons I've been considering an F8000 over an F7100 (which has no black border and instead features the silver bezel coming in right beside the image, creating a less engaging / cinematic impression of the display, imho). If the 7500 has it, that would be very, very cool. smile.gif

Could anyone who has this set answer my question above?
The F7500 has the thin bezel. That is why I bought it. It is about 5/16 of an inch wide. BB has them in some stores, but not all. Bezel is nearly invisible when the TV is on. My wife liked it so much, it is the reason she approved the purchase. I got it at Amazon; very smooth & professional process.

The odd thing about the F8000 is that the rear is not flat. There is a box which protrudes about an inch in the rear by the width of the TV and about 8" high. As a result it doesn't lay totally flat against the wall. For me that was a deal breaker.

Buy the F7500, it is awesome.
Amazing! Thanks! So outside of the stand and some of the software, it's effectively the same set as the F8000, it seems. Now to wait for it to go on sale, lol!
Yes, the bezel is the same as the F8000, but as I said I think it is better for wall mounting. Good luck!
Has anyone found an F7500 for sale anywhere in Canada? For some reason, the usual places aren'y stocking it.

what input did you set your receiver to get 5.1 audio? I tried the USB input but audio in still coming from TV as opposed to receiver.

I got this TV recently and wanted to share a weird weirdity about it. I used my old 1080i TV as a second computer screen to watch shows and movies and for games and now I have this 46 incher. What's weird is that if I label a source as PC, a ton of my picture options gets grayed out unless I reduce the resolution or change the refresh rate to 50 Hz or less. I don't know why it would behave that way, but thought I would leave this message out there for anyone else who runs into this problem. I changed the label back to ----. I can live with that, but it's one of those maddening things that my OCD will throb at as long as I have this TV.

I have some similar problem.

Mine, sometimes is set to only 640x480, and recognized as a non PNP device (plug and play).

If i disconnect everything than connect it again it comes back to normal. It's like the TV and the pc are not communicating very well.

After some time it loses the TV resolution (or else) info.. Thank i have to disconnect it again.

My pc has 2x hd 5850 in crossfire-x mode. I also experience some tearing when both monitors  (TV and monitor) are on, but that should have something to do with the refresh rate difference between the two.

I don't know how to solve the resolution instability problem : (

some advice?

Remember, my F7500 is connected to my Denon via a dedicated Optical input, so the input on my AVR is always set to "TV Audio".

My "USB Input" reference earlier was for the use of my Harmony 900 remote - it would not learn the Smart Hub button so I used the "USB Input" selection on my Harmony as the workaround.

Hope this makes sense. smile.gif

New owner. Have the blow cap issue in my 2008 52" ToC so time to upgrade but it had to fit in the same furniture space . The 60" physical size fits perfectly. Changed to movie mode and auto motion plus to clear as Cable TV seems to jutter. So far so good but I remember my Denon 3808 does not support 3D so I'm thinking of using optical from the TV to the AVR. The video is coming my my NAS via cat-5 about 3 ft away.

Does anyone uses it as a computer monitor??? If so, does the image always fine, like always at the right resolution?

Thanks!
