Exactly so why would you use the same setting for all TVs? That makes zero sense.

I'm interested to here reviews of this set, I have last years ES7500 and wondering if there are any improvements...

Is your AVR capable of the formats and is it digitally connected? I think that's the only thing that could explain the inability to select that option.

I'm watching a movie preview right now from Amazon and my available sound options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS Neo 2:5 (the DTS option is grayed out). I have a Denon AVR-1713 connected via optical cable (I'm short 1 HDMI cable right now) to a 5.1 speaker setup. The TV is set to Dolby Digital and my AVR display says PLII Cinema. When I switch the TV to PCM, my AVR display switches to Stereo.

Then don't use my base settings.

What are you base settings based on?

Each set has an entirely different hardware and software configurations... a base setting for a certain set sure, a base setting for screen size no.

Not that I'm aware of. I can set mine when I'm watching regular TV.

As info, I watched a Blu-Ray today and the only options I had available were PCM and DTS Neo 2:5. PCM would set the AVR to Stereo, while DTS Neo would set the AVR to DTS.

Hello everyone ;

I've just ordered my F7500 55" and will receive it in a couple of days ;

In advance, how do you guys find the 3d on that tv ? I tried it a the store and i've been quite impressed, however as was the own samsung 3d "presnetation videos" it was probably not representative of the average performance ;

How much does that TV cost in the US ? (i mean store price, not only price), for the 55"

Alright, for the $64,000 question: Has anyone noticed edge light and/or clouding issues with this panel? Thanks

From the Value Electronics HDTV shootout I surmised the F8000 had no such issues but that TV has Ultimate + Precision Black micro dimming and the 7500 has Pro micro dimming.

I found this page while searching for optimal settings when my wife said she didn't think our picture was very good. http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/samsung-lcd-tv/samsung-es7500-picturesettings.html

Good luck.

Best But don't carry 2 of the better 2013 TV's currently out, Samsung F7500 and LG LA8600. I asked my local Best Buy if they could be ordered? and I was told that the F7500 showed as not longer available in their system, and the LG LA8600 wasn't even listed in their system. mad.gif

My local Best Buy still has some ES7500s on markdown in the 55 inch size. But sounds like you prefer the improvements of the F series.

Has anybody tried gaming on this tv, or better yet, been able to do any input lag testing? I have yet to come across any such information in regards to this model.
post #47 of 257
Just asked again today and the blue shirts had no answer. Said it wasn't available yet. What's weird is that PC Richards across the street has it. All three 60" models (f8000,f7500,f7100) on display right next to each other. I would prefer to buy at bestbuy though due to rewards zone points and I have an account there. All 3 tvs had the same feed running through them (Paladia channel). Just from watching them for a few minutes I thought the 7500 and 8000 looked identical. The 7100 looked good but I thought the blacks were blacker on the other 2. .....

I've had my 55F7500 for about 6 weeks now. I haven't looked specifically for lighting glitches, but the blacks are very good and I haven't seen anything that has attracted my attention. By the way, the simulated 3D is amazing - but generally not worth having to wear the silly glasses.

I work in magnolia and the 60la8600 is available. We will have one on display in a day or 2. As for the f7500 it's in the system but cannot be ordered, not sure why. Should be soon that we can

Got an update notification today. Didn't do it as the kids wanted to watch TV. Going to search to see if I can find any info on the update.

What version?
post #57 of 257
I'm really close to buying this TV. It seems like a good balance between the 8000 and 7100. A few thoughts/questions for you all.

First, has anyone tried a Logitech Harmony One remote with this TV? Or anyone think there might be problems using that remote with this TV?

Second, from what I understand, the only differences between this model and the 8000 are slightly lower CMR and the micro-dimming is not quite as good. Any other differences? My thoughts are that those two differences aren't worth an additional $300.

Third, currently, I'm planning on keeping my ONKYO TX-SR606 Receiver. Its about 5 years old, but it runs well and handles DTS-HD and TrueHD. Will I be holding myself back by not upgrading my receiver?

Fourth, I'm going to replace my bluray player with a 3d bluray player. I'm thinking the Samsung BD-F5900. Any thoughts on that player?

Thanks!

Don't know. I didn't do it and it didn't give me the version number on the pop up notification.

I use a Harmony 900, which is the RF version of the One. Logitech has updated their database to include the F7500. The only thing missing is the Smart Hub button and I can't get the 900 to learn the command for the life of me.

Interesting. So, I may need to keep the Samsung remote around then.

Not necessarily. For convenience, yes, but you "can" access the Smart Hub through the TV using device mode and using the TVs menu to access it. That's the long way around though.

I'm going to try and get another remote to learn the command and if that works, then I'll try having that remote teach it to the 900.
