I wanted to get an amp and then a sub so I started looking for amps. I think the BEHRINGER EP-4000 is a good start. What would you guys buy?

I know of several people who are doing well with one or more EP-4000s. The largest subwoofer configuration I know of uses 4 dual 2 ohm voice coil Ficar 18s, driven by 4 EP-4000s on a dedicated 230 volt 30 amp circuit. One power amp channel per woofer voice coil.

A Phallus and build a box for it yourself. Much better than anything else complete in this price range.
