The only 3D version of Avatar on BD is the theatrical edition so there is no need for any confusion as to which version to get if you want to watch it in 3D at home.

The non 3D "extended" Avatar has 3 different versions, and the 2 extended versions have more footage that adds to the story. I am waiting for the release of the 3D extended version... probably released when Avatar 2 hits the theaters I am fearing.

Wife & I watched this a few days ago on our new Panasonic TC-PZT60 & we really loved it. We were feeling like we were inside the movie. We are new to 3D and trying to get more movies. Avatar was our favorite so far.

That's what I love about the movie. It puts you IN the world of Pandora. No cheesy 3D effects like other movies. I highly recommend you check out Life of Pi in 3D as well. AMAZING.

This. I've already bought the movie once, and I'm already not looking forward to buying it again. But I'm not wasting my money on the theatrical release in any form, I much prefer the extended cut.
