Don't be fooled. A few hours after ordering I got an email saying the TV was not ready for pickup. I'm pretty irritated because I cancelled my order on Amazon and now I need to get in the back of the line. Estimated shipment is now 8/1-8/31. I wasn't going to cancel the Amazon order until I picked it up from Best Buy but then thought if Best Buy just got inventory then Amazon must be getting some soon too, and I didn't want to get charged twice.
Best Buy is sending me a $25 gift card for my troubles but I'm still very annoyed.
FYI: I was able to talk Best Buy (Southern California) to give me the 60ST60 for $1399 [TV was not available for pickup right away, but was delivered two days later]. Edited by huyqt - 7/10/13 at 2:50pm
This was last week when the 60ST60 was still $1499; it looks like it's $1599 now.
I was originally looking for the 55", but it was back ordered everywhere.
I went into Best Buy because I was looking for the hard to find 55VT50 for $1299. After finding that the last local Best Buy sold the last 55VT50 the day before, I requested a price match on the 55ST60 thinking they had a 55ST60 (Price match was to Panasonic's "Platinum Partner" website which had the 55ST60 for $1274 and the 60ST60 for $1444). It turns out that they don't even carry the 55". The employee then asked why not step up to the 60", and I replied "money". He then went to the "back" to speak to his manager. He came back out and offered me the $1399 price. I requested to sleep on it and they honored the price the next day.
It looks like they really wanted to sell me this TV and succeeded.
Sidenote: It's not like the TV wasn't selling because between the day when I was quoted the price and the day after, when I placed the order, they went from 28 to 14 TV's in stock in their distribution center.
Wow, I came here to announce what a great deal I got for this TV at Paul's ($2099) a few days ago, then saw this post. Called Paul's and they gave me $100 back. Thanks for posting the deal!
Same here for me. I got an alert from CamelCamelCamel about Amazon's price on the 65" ST60 going down so I called Paul's and they gave me $100.00 back as well. They based the refund on Paul's price going down instead of Amazon because I would have gotten less since Amazon charges tax.
Anyone know where I can get a deal (or even find one in stock) on a 60 inch ST60? Looks like they're MSRP and backordered everywhere....
Amazon and Best Buy are both selling the 60" for $1499, which is $200 below MSRP. Where have you been looking? Your best bet to get one sooner rather than later is to keep calling around to Best Buy's in your area. A Panasonic insider from another forum said that Best Buy bought up most of the 60" ST's that were recently manufactured. Otherwise just order on Amazon and bide your time. I ordered mine a month ago and it's just now shipping.
On the W. Coast the ST60 is out of stock everywhere, except Best Buy. I bought one last night and they matched Pauls's deal, even though Paul's is out of stock for a month. They had over 60 in their Whse. last night. Mine will be delivered on Sunday. Ck the web-site for out of the area ordering... I checked everywhere: Paul's, Howard's, Pacific Sales, Audio/Video, Sears, Panasonic web-site, RC Willey out of Vegas, Amazon, Crutchfield etc... No Stock except BB
