Was at best buy a few minutes ago and walked out with panasonic 60st60 open box for $1200 plus tax. They also have a 60gt50 for $1325plus 10 % off. You looking at $1193 plus tax. Was debating between these two.

I have been playing the waiting game with Pauls TV for over a week now. I will cancel my order with them.

Yes. Although, I haven't seen the ST60 in person, so I have no idea what kind of image quality I'm missing out on smile.gif.

I'd been curious as to the difference as well, and here's what I gather:

More adjustments available on the ST60, 2500 FFD, higher level of gradiation (whether this has a noticable impact is not totally clear, but it may contribute to more banding on the S64). S64 also has 2 HDMI inputs (vs 3 on the ST60) and the HDMI on the S64 face towards the rear (as opposed to the side like the ST60) which may not may not be an issue for you. Also, no 3D available on the S64.

Most people who've seen both say that they both have good PQ, but the ST60 definitely has an edge in that regard.

Ordered (on 5/18) a 60" ST60 for $1,399 @ my local BB. They took $100 off (without me even asking) for the inconvenience of it not being in store or immediately in their warehouse. As long as it doesn't take toooooo long (more than a month) it's ok because I am not even in my new place yet.

Oh! And no tax! So $1,399 = $1,399! biggrin.gif

Can't wait!

Justin-

*Note. This is obviously not BB's price (at the moment). Just wanted to share the personal deal that I got.

Is it likely the ST60 go down in price in a month or two? I really want to pull the trigger now but would like to get it a bit cheaper to appease the wifey.

It depends on the specific model, but I would not expect any of the ST series to drop in price by any significant amount between now and July. They're already below list and many retailers carrying them are selling them as soon as the initial shipments aren received. The fact that many retailers only have limited stock of these (or are on backorder) would seem like it'd make the likelihood of an across-the-board price drop unlikely, at least until they're widely available.

If you want to lower the price, you can certainly try to haggle a little with a local retailer. Some many be willing to give you a small discount (or price match) to induce you to buy.

I am seeing the following prices at Paul's TV, each with a $250 gift card. Is this a great deal or an I missing something?

TCP50ST60 - $999.99

http://www.paulstv.com//Bundles/Panasonic-TCP50ST60-Plus-$250-in-Gift-Cards.asp

TCP60ST60 - $1469.99

http://www.paulstv.com/Bundles/Panasonic-TCP60ST60-Plus-$250-in-Gift-Cards.asp

TCP65ST60 - $2299.99

http://www.paulstv.com//Bundles/Panasonic-TCP65ST60-Plus-$250-in-Gift-Cards.asp

Edit: Well I misunderstood the gift cards. In practice it's more like a coupon book than anything else.

I was thinking of purchasing the 55ST60 from Sears but you are not the first person I see to warn against this.

They have the TV for $1349.99 with 18 months no interest and free delivery if ordering online, AND it appears that the TV could be delivered within a few days.

Could you (or anyone) elaborate on concerns with ordering from Sears? Thanks in advance.

(I do have an old 35" Sony TV to get rid of (very heavy) but Best Buy does not carry the 55" yet.)

I went to Paul's TV/ABC Warehouse/BB yesterday and cross-shopped them all.

ABC Warehouse/Paul's TV both agreed to $1300 - I balked and asked for $1250 before tax, ABC Warehouse said they couldn't go below $1300 in store, asked me to come back on Wed when they could call corporate. That's what I plan on doing tomorrow, will update with receipt picture when/if that goes down.

Also, going to BB today so see if they'll come down - doubtful without an actual price to match online, etc.

Interesting that the guy at ABC Warehouse showed me his computer screen and an "at cost" price of $1330 on the 60ST60. This pricing probably only helps people in the midwest US, but wanted to share regardless.

See if there's a Pauls TV in your area.

Fyi..I was at BB today to order the 60st60, and could not. Apparently they're on hold, and cannot be ordered right now. The guy said they now have both the 55" and 65" in their system, and the tv's are most likely on hold so they can ship all sizes to stores once they get them. Said availabilty would be around June 8th, I'm in the buffalo area.

Similar story in Minneapolis, didn't get all the details you did but was told that they have none in stock and cannot order any more at the moment.

Hope they change and price those 2 accordingly against the 60" I so want a 65" but the price ratio is not in line smile.gif

Canadians, Future Shop has sales this week on the st60. $100 of the 50" and 55", $200 off the 60", $300 of the 65". If you're in QC, you can save an extra $100 off the 50",55",60" and an extra $150 of the 65" because there is a promo on appliances and home theatre.

For example I bought the 60st60, reg $1899.99 on sale for 1699.99 - 100 promo = 1599.99 plus tax is 1888.45. $300 off is really good. I was looking at the 55ST50 last year and it took until after xmas to go on sale for 200 off. I think it was reg 1600 on sale for 1400 on boxing week.

Almost bought it. $1400 for a 55st50. I'm happy I waited and got the 60st60 for $1600.

Picked up a 60" ST from Cleveland Plasma tonight. Tired of waiting locally and felt better helping out the smaller guy instead of BB.

ok just pulled the triiger on the 65st60 for $2,399 at pauls tv. they talked me into the 4 year service plan for $199. They said it usually goes for $399. I'm sure more times than not people never use the service plan.

ABC Warehouse won't be stocking the ST series this year.
Hello everyone. I been watching this site for a while now but have never posted. I'd like to start by saying thanks to everyone and their input. I live in Ontario, Canada and was just at Future Shop looking to purchase the 65"st. They're $300 off right at $2299 + tax, which would be around $2500+. Anyway, the salesman told me they get none there and none in their warehouse in Toronto. I asked when they would start coming in, he said he didn't know and to email the product manager about it. He was a nice guy, just basically saying Panasonic sends us what they can. Just wanted to know if anyone had any luck in purchasing a 65" from BBY or Future Shop. Tgsnks

You can get it for way cheaper from other stores. BB and FS are overpriced.
