That wont be an upgrade as far as audio is concerned. Cambridge is well known for quality sound.

The Onkyo probably has more features though.. until the HDMI board gives out. Does your Cambridge decode TrueHD and DTS-MA from Blu Ray?

I dont think it does but as i am using the source material from an external DAC (source is a PC) the decoding is not a problem. I am looking to get the best quality amplification and mainly room correction. I have been looking into the antimode 8033c to resolve room modes however the audyssey feature was very attractive.

I have a budget of about 300 pounds would you be able to advice what would be best to do in my situation?

Is there a signal processor that will autoeq all of the speakers?

Audyssey 2EQ on the Onkyo 608 is pretty basic. Audyssey MultEQ or MultEQ XT would be better. MultEQ is available on entry level Denon receivers and XT on the mid level models.

You said 300 pounds, that's Great Britain right? I have no idea what is available for that price in your country.

The 608 is 3 years old. You would be better served considering one of the new 2013 models (eg. 626) which uses Audyssey MultEQ or one of the new or older Denon models (eg. 1612, 1613, E300) all of which use Audyssey MultEQ as well.
