Game of Thrones Season 1 DVD - Fake?

Not sure if this is the right spot to ask, but here goes...

I bought Season 1 and 2 DVD box sets off ebay. The guy says they came from Best Buy.

The box sets look correct compared to pics from Amazon (pictures, inserts, etc). The box sets were sealed with the HBO stickers and everything.

Here's my problem. I popped Disc 1 from Season 1 into my Oppo and right off the bat, the commercials, and even the first episode exhibited compression artifacts and pixelation. I'd say, consistent with copies I've unwittingly purchased in the past of movies and TV shows. During one of the scenes, it even skipped a few seconds.

I've got all the Seasons for the Sorpranos and Deadwood and the picture quality of those HBO DVDs are definitely better than my set of Game of Thrones.

Now here's the question. Will someone with a DVD box set of Game of Thrones tell me if they notice the same compression artifacts and pixelation as I do?

Thanks.

And sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.

Seller was cooperative and returned my money. I'm done with purchasing dvd/blurays through ebay.
