Tiger lied about asking the marshals if it was ok to pull a club when Sergio was hitting, the chief marshal was at the scene and confirmed it.

Goes to reinforce what Sergio said - "Tiger's not the nicest guy out here." Amen.

He deliberately cheated in the Masters and I never heard one single reporter ask him why he took an obviously illegal drop. Not one. Instead, the whole story seemed to be about how awful it was that a former rules official (who happens to live here in Charlotte) called in and ratted him out. You can bet nobody will have the guts to call him on his lie about the Marshal, either. Kudos to that guy for saying Tiger "lacked character".

At the Players, Woods hooks it into a lateral water hazard on 14. They showed the overhead blimp view which showed that ball crossing the hazard line about 30 yards behind where he took his drop. Even Johnny Miller said "he couldn't live with himself" if he [Johnny] failed to mention it. Johnny said "it was close to the line" - very diplomatic of him.

The fact is that Tiger is treated with kid gloves, always has been. Even after his "troubles" of 2009. Is it any wonder he feels entitled to lie & cheat?

Here's another account of the incident, from Marshals who were there, that completely refutes this account...

Should be an interesting weekend.

What is with the droning airplane engine noise on the broadcast? It is getting very distracting.
^^^Surprised they haven't installed noise-cancellation technology in the pre-broadcast chain. The blimp(s) could radio signals representing engine speeds and a opposite-phase cancellation signal should eliminate most of the broadcast audio noise, (How noise-cancellation headphones work--minus the benefit of a source-rpm signal.) -- John.

Trust us, it's the blimp. Its so much a part of the PGA "experience" that the Tiger Woods console game series even include the blimp drone as part of the "tour atmosphere" ambiance. It's just one of those things/distractions that you have to deal with as a PGA player.

Not at Augusta of course cause there are no blimps.

The Masters is not a PGA Tour run event. Neither is the US Open but they had some air coverage. You will see the Met Life Blimp this weekend. I saw it yesterday over the course I was playing, no doubt heading up to Cromwell.

I read these posts and I have to laugh. Golf is a very difficult game and I heard a commentator say that when your playing well its seems that its always going to be. When your play bad seems like your never going to play well again. And these pundits on golf channel whose careers were average to below average sure talk the talk but can't walk the walk.
For you Tiger haters, he's 24k gold and just like Jack and Arnie he made golf popular again. Like John Daly said when Tiger was having his troubles that Tiger is bigger than golf. I'd hate the fame that goes along with being Tiger. Face it folks he's probably going down as the greatest golfer ever.
Not yet he's not, if he doesn't top Jack for majors he will never be the greatest in my book. And I wonder now if he's going to do that.

If anyone can do it, it would be Tiger. You can never underestimate him and he is always a potential threat. However...

He is 37, and his body continues to break down; that is not going to change. He is never going to be 25 again, in any respect. That is what his most ardent supporters need to accept. Tiger was and is the best physical specimen that golf has ever seen, but his biggest attribute, at least to me, has always been his mental game. Tiger had you beaten before you hit your first tee shot. He no longer has it to the degree he had in the past, so his intimidation factor over other golfers has been greatly diminished. Players are still in awe of him, but they also know they can beat him, even if it gets down to the final hole, and that is the biggest obstacle they’ve had to overcome. I can see Tiger winning another couple of majors, but his chances of passing Jack are getting slimmer every day. Until he does, he will always be number 2, and there is no shame in that.

BTW, I’m not a Tiger hater, he has been the best thing for golf in decades, but when you approach 40, your better days are behind you and it becomes more difficult to win a major, especially when you have young, confident, talented golfers coming along, and there a plenty of them. JMO.
