Absolutely. And as stated, to me my Shunyata Conditioner has been a very worthwhile investment. I have just one of their power cords from wall to Hydra and it is a really nice cable. If I could do it again, I would replace all my Synergistic Research cords with Shunyata. The need to plug a wart supply as well as the cable is a pain in the ass. Two plugs for each cable. Adds to my nest..Shunyata are lighter and more flexible.
To the comment about why don't mfgs include these upgraded cords? At least two reasons. BOM cost. They aren't gonna stick a $600 cable with a $2500 CDP. Secondly, as I have stated, it's a pain in the ass. You think Joe Yamaha is gonna deal with a power cord popping off his AVR everytime he needs to move it? There would be a munity. I am used to it, deal with it and know when I need to pull my cabinet forward at least two snakes are gonna drop.
Joe consumer would not deal. Hell, they are still bitching about HDMI connection. Power Cord drops would be war to Joe consumer.
I appreciate the reading. I admit I learn a lot BUT I would like to know the equipment used, if the zealots have tried at least once a complete rewiring of power cables, speaker cables and ICs with a system a bit more resolving. Or is it all text book?
I have been fairly honest and think I am not an audiophile. That term bores the **** out of me. I am more a middle class guy that took several years to build and love it and am very proud of it. It is quite a rig nest and all. Did my best to try in a controlled environment in my own world and form my own conclusions.
I go against the grain in subs( love REL-not at AVS-mistake) Salk speakers are not my savior and I opted for Cambridge Audio over Oppo disc player (they are the same but they are not ). Point being, when building my rig, it was my experiments, some failures and some scores. Don't automatically condemn. I hardly ever see a zealot post past experiments, equipment or even their current set-up. .
My amp was the least to respond and my CDP was just better, in fact loved it. Pre/pro in the middle...
It was worth the investment and hassle to me. Shunyata is the best out there for aftermarket as far as I am concerned. Good for them for trying to post results. Matches my thoughts with their extreme quality...
