onkyo skw 200

hi all,

first time to post...
just bought this 150 w sub for 5 bucks. exterior cosmetics and woofer seemed perfect
but had to clean the c.b. with some soft wire brushes to even get it to power up past protection mode as the whole board was covered with white powder and rust
anyhow, now it works perfectly, but I would like to get some opinions on modding it so its not so boomy. I don't expect it to extend very subsonic with an 8 in woofer, but I would like to tighten it up a bit, and I do have poly stuff to spare. volume is approx 1.16667cub/ft with a 4*9 in port

also picked up a jamo compact 120 for 4 bucks, any comments on this model?

any input would be appreciated, thanks.

lots of looks in one hour, but no responses? I know it's a cheaper obscure model...

stuff it full of poly fill and let er' rip...you might try making a foam plug for the port, that should tighten it up. not sure about the jamo, but hey for the money it cant be too bad!

Appreciate the response, was hoping for an approximate amount poly fill, as the internal amp could overheat and obviously I shouldn't unintentionally plug the port

I've got one of these that I bought new with my HTIB about 10 years ago. I just dug it out and connected it to my PC system, which ironically is using the other speakers from that system (with a different receiver)

Anyway, just curious if you ever did anything with yours? Any modding? I was thinking of getting a different woofer - like this one: http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-sd215a-88-8-dvc-subwoofer--295-484
