2 ea SW-8MK2 vs 1 ea Klipsch RW-12d

Thread Starter
I bought the Pioneer SP-PK52FS system which includes the SW-8MK2 sub.

I"m looking to improve my bass response. The 8MK2 seems a little underpowered.

Would it be better to buy another SW-8MK2 and run both or buy one good sub like a RW-12d and run solo?

Also would it be okay to run an 8MK2 and a RW-12d at the same time.

I am running through a Onkyo Tx-NR818 Receiver.

Thank you

Pioneer SW-8MK2 (PDF):
- 8" driver
- 50W "FTC Power Output" amp
- 38-150Hz +/- ?dB

Klipsch RW-12d:
- 12" driver
- 350W RMS amp
- 24-120Hz +/-3dB

I'd ditch the SW-8MK2 and run with one RW-12d...and consider adding a second one later on. smile.gif

-- Edit --
Another option is the JBL ES250P, currently on sale at Amazon.com (as the ES250PBK) for $199.99:
- 12" driver
- 400W RMS amp
- 25-150Hz +/- ?dB

I would go with the klipsch since its a proven performer.

Save your money, until you can afford two subwoofers, that are better than the Klipsch RW-12D.

Go with dual Klipsch RW-12d's. I have two, and they are fantastic!! Adding two more, eventually.
