There is very conflicting information about the CERTIFICATE folder. Some say to include it for compatibility and some say is absolutely not needed.
Since you ask... my opinion is that this goes way back when the BD format started and the authoring software did not have a way to NOT include encryption. Yes as far ftetch as it sounds, there was a time that BD needed to have encryption, and the standard calls for it. After awhile the software creators, actually included a way for the files not to be encrypted. All the Demo disc have no encryption and thus do not need the CERTIFICATE folder, is there just because the BD standard calls for one.

Oh ok, good to know then !

I'll transfer the BDMV folder to my USB drive when I get home and hook it up to the Oppo for playback, looks like that's all I really need to do..

I'll report back, and thx again for all your help, and also to LastButNotLeast and ScubaSteve ! smile.gif

Thanks for the disc any specific post to make it work with Ps3? I just have to convert it to USB ps3 in MultiAVCHD?, My Ps3 will arrive tomorrow and I want to be ready.

Ps: I install AVCHD and it doesn´t open, what can I do?

I tried playing the files from a NAS through XBMC. It did display the menus correctly, but it was not the same as running from a disc (at least for me). If I click stop while playing a clip, it doesn't go back to the BD menu but exits back to the folder/file view in XBMC. Not sure if that is expected or an issue with my setup. Edit: clicking the chapter skip button returns to the BD menu, so that's a workaround!

I also burned one of the the demos to DVD. It burned fine and things worked for the most part in my Sony BD player, but audio was extremely choppy. Would converting to AVCHD first help this? Or something else I could try to improve the playability?

Ha! Thanks for the chapter skip button workaround. Yeah I think this is one aspect of the current blu-ray menu support in XBMC that could be improved a lot. I think the rationale -- which is not good since playing the BDMV folder should be just as playing a blu-ray ISO in my opinion -- is that you're currently playing the MovieObject.bdmv file (i.e. the menu file). So pressing stop simply exits the whole menu context.

Another workaround to return to the menu is to click on the disc button at bottom right. This brings the menu, albeit on top of the (still playing) movie.

You may only need to put them in one folder, you may need to use ImgBurn to create an ISO, you may need to run them through MultiAVCHD to create an AVCHD folder. That will depend on what your Oppo can read.
Good luck.

Also I noticed that for all of them, under the "Trackers" tab at the bottom of u torrent 3.3, it said "disabled" for "peer exchange". I enabled it for all of them... should I have done that ?? eek.gif

Really appreciate the work you guys have done on this collection. It's been excellent listening to another fine demo disc from the dedicated members here.

I played mine on the PS3, and appreciate the easy to follow guide that you posted too.

Looking forward to your final solution so we can merge them all into one smile.gif

Cheers,

Over 5 hours now in u torrent, and all files still say 'connecting to peers'.

Will it kick start at some point or should I cancel and restart ? Although I already did that once for one of them and it didn't do anything, I also restarted my PC just to see.. no dice frown.gif

That is not normal. There is still activity on all the segments. Check your router port and/or run the connectivity test on the client torrent.
I just re-fired up Utorrent and will be seeding again for the next 5 days. I have 200gig left of my monthly allowed bandwidth and I wont be home for the next 5 days so I figure I might as well use it up if I'm gonna pay for it. biggrin.gif

Did not do this purposely. If we would do this a large group of people will never read anything related to the links. At least this way they need to skim through it to find the attachment. mad.gifwink.gifbiggrin.gif

Well that sucks then ! Now I'm at work gonna lose a full day on this. frown.gif oh well I guess I'll survive wink.gif

Yesterday I finished downloading the 46GB torrent for ScubaSteve's disc, it started right away and didn't stop til it was done 2 days later. Then I started a few of yours and I'm getting this Connecting to Peers message on all three of them.. I didn't change any settings in between the two confused.gif

I assume I can find the tab in u torrent 3.3 (I think thats my version) to run the connectivity test, but I have no clue how to check my ports, what to look for or what do to if something is off (sorry..). When you say ports, you mean within the wireless router settings right ?? FYI I'm using 2 Apple AirPort Extreme routers (1 is connected to cable modem next to my pc and the other is in my HT components, this one only 'extends the network', I use it to hardwire my components instead of using wifi smile.gif )

I really wanna get these torrents going, they look amazing ! biggrin.gif

Thx !

Cant you link to the post? Not a direct link to the torrent? Sounds insignificant, and largely it is, but I and presumably others, download via a headless server. I remote in with my iphone/ipad and the scrolling is cumbersome. If they first post had a post-link to the post with the torrent link, it'd be very helpful. Everyone wins, you still force the scroll past the images/description.

Lucky guy !! wink.gif

I'm capped at 60GB, although I just got em this morning to bump it up to 80GB since really they've been ripping me off at 60, but that's a whole other story in itself..

So I went home at lunch and did the following:

Stopped the torrents that were still 'connecting to peers', over 10 hours after starting them (3 of them all from Ref 2 disc).
Uninstalled the u torrent software off my PC
Deleted all 3 torrents files saved on my PC (the files that you use to launch the torrent in u torrent)
Unplugged router and modem, waited a few minutes, waited for them to power back up (I checked afterwards and the Internet was working fine)
Shut down PC, then power up PC again
Downloaded u torrent software again and installed it
Saved the torrents files (the ones found in the first few post of this thread) on my PC again.
Opened u torrent, added torrent, it was recognized, said ok START
Its been 20 min now - and u torrent says "connecting to peers". Same problem as before.

I've attached a few pictures that might help, I'm not sure:

1- the u torrent download page for the Bass file that won't start now (connecting to peers)
2 - the torrent file (the one I used to launch it) properties
3 - the u torrent Connection tab in Preferences/settings.

I'm at a lost now mad.gifconfused.gif

Any assistance and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thx.

Well to be honest, I don't think you can get 25 Mbps and the 300 GB cap for $35 with TekSavvy can you? 25 Mbps in ON now starts at $40 and that currently gives you a 150 GB cap (which is still nice). Upgrading to the 300 GB cap is typically $5-7 more. And this is of course before taxes.

I'm also on TekSavvy though and I can only recommend them!

You have the port closed its using I bet. You need to go into utorrent, preferences and look on the setup guide there is a connection tester. Run it. It should tell you if you have connection problems.

You technically could be blocking the port on your computer OR 2 router OR your modem. You will need to figure out which it is. The router your pc is connected too, does that one connected directly to the modem or is it the extended one? Having to many firewalls can be bad as you need to open up each one. If you only have one router hooked up to the modem..I would leave that routers firewall on and turn off the one "in" the network.

You will still need to open up the right ports for utorrent on modem, router AND PC. Also if you have anti virus software, that too can block ports.

Ok thx very much for this. I will try it tonight when I get home. I will run the u torrent connection tester and start there (thx for telling me where to find this I looked but I couldn't locate it in the settings).

The router next to my PC is connected to the cable modem. The second AirPort Extreme is underneath my TV stand, and this one is set to "Extend a network" only.

One question. If my ports are closed, why was I able to download a 46GB torrent over the past 2-3 days ? It finished last night without any glitches throughout the 2-3 day download period, and then right after its done I try to download these Reference 2 torrents and this happens.. I didn't change any settings, def not any port settings, in between those 2 downloads (one attempted download). confused.gif

Bjorn was a great retailer of ours and a I remember a rumor going around in 2010 that he was going out of business. So glad that it was just a rumor.

Try this first:

in utorrent, click on the file to select it.

click on the green arrow in the row above it.

You may have never actually started the torrent; starting automatically is in the preferences section.

Would this be Ortofon the cartridge (needles) for turntables? If it is I still use these!!! biggrin.gif:eek:

I've known Bjorn, and some of the original sales guys, for over 30 years... its a great store, and it was lots of fun using his "Ultimate Room" it truly shows the reference material in the disc.

Yes, one and the same. I ran it for 20 years and retired 6 years ago.

Unfortunately clicking the green arrow didnt do anything.. except for the green arrow turning 'shaded grey' (no color), instead of green.. but it still says 'connecting to peers' mad.gif

I've also tried to right-click the torrent and click "Force Start", but it didn't make it start.. It only made the green arrow referenced above appear green again, so I just clicked it, again, to make it shaded... nothing is working unfortunately, but the other one (Scubasteve - 46GB file size) you helped me with a couple of days ago worked flawlessly.. and that was in u torrent obviously..

Speed test passed, port appears to be open. While the test was taking place, the status bar of the torrent changed from the never ending "connecting to peers" to "Queued 0.0%, but then went right back to "connecting to peers" after the test results appeared in the window (?) Twice also, I've seen that status bar change to say "downloading 0.0%", but only for two seconds and then it goes right back to you know what..

Also at the bottom of u torrent I have the "Peers" window highlighted, and a few times I've seen an address appear (with a USA flag), but only for two seconds and then it goes away, then the Peers window is blanked.. mad.gif

I've attached a picture of the test results below, not sure what to do next eek.gif

I'll have to look at the u torrent connection setup instructions referenced above when I get a chance hopefully later tonight I guess.. What I really don't understand, is that right before trying to start these torrents here (Reference 2 disc), I downloaded a 46GB torrent without any issues.. so what happened in that 20 minutes between the two torrents.... I didn't touch any settings anywhere confused.gif

Blu-one, are you running any programs such as malwarebytes? These tend to block certain ISP's. Could your ISP be shutting you down due to maxing out your allotted bandwidth? Long shots but worth asking.
I also see you are in Canada. Could that have something to do with the problem?
