Just called amazon for a status update and they are out of stock (no sh*t) and don't know what happened to the TV I ordered. It was in stock when I placed my order so obviously they sold it to someone else. So pissed right now frown.gif

My only hope would be for someone to cancel their order, me get lucky and purchase it and hope amazon would honor the original price. Basically, I'm screwed.

What were your order/delivery dates?

I ordered the same model on 1/22, and it shipped out on 2/3. Last week they said it would not ship until March...so obviously something wrong with their inventory control @ Amazon. They should/will give you some type of reimbursement for their mistake.

Damn. So are you going to wait until then and hope it ships or try to find something else? I don't know what kind of reimbursement to even ask for. The multiple people I talked to on the phone weren't helpful at all nor did they seem to even care.

60vt60 Demo with 3k hours, inc stand, remote, but no glasses.  No burn in, did the screen wipe and couldn't really see anything right away. I feel like if i stare hard enough i'm trying to make myself see something.....

1300 for the TV and 300 for the 5 yr BB warranty.

Good deal, should I stop thinking about it or wait until next year and hope LED gets that much better???

thoughts, comments, all appreciated.

Or i can still find a pretty good deal on a 65S60?

It shipped out early, on February 3rd. Should be here by Monday.

If there is another tv you're interested in, they may negotiate a few hundred off that. Otherwise you can ask for a voucher of whatever value you deem enough to make you happy.

Check Amazon Warehouse deals they currently have 60VT60 for $1828 and 65VT60 for $2208, one of each. Amazon Warehouse deal are for returned merchandise from their customers. You can add Squaretrade 4 year protection for 60" for $154.

It was still in the original box, with all packaging, so I'm not sure what the story behind mine was but I am thrilled. It's a big upgrade from my 2009 50" Panny G15.

This is great to hear! I ordered one last week with the same description. It's been sitting in either a wear house or delivery truck in -20 degree temperatures for the last couple of days. Due to the weather they have canceled a few times. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

If you can find a 65S60 "anywhere" I'd be super surprised. There are still some 50-60" floor models around but it's been a while since I've seen anything in a 65"

I got my Amazon Warehouse 65VT60 yesterday, too. It was advertised as having a scratch on the base mount. I didn't see any scratch, but it's a moot point as the base will never be used. The TV is perfect! 175 hours, so break-in is done. Still getting used to the functionality and PAIN of setting up all the apps. smile.gif

The CEVA delivery guy was incredible, even helping me mount the TV on the wall. I already had the Sanus VLF515 mount on the wall and TV bracket sized per the cut sheet. Also had the M8-1.25x25MM screws ready, per another post in this thread. The screws provided by Sanus were either too short or too long, and the spacers didn't help; too thick. Probably easier to mount on the wall than installing the base mount. Definitely lighter; that base is heavy!

The CEVA guy had no qualms about powering up the TV even though the ambient temperature was in the high 40s. Everything worked! Couldn't be happier.

The Oppo 103 gets delivered today, so I will have another source to test with. No 3D movies in my inventory, but I played with 3D playing a 2D BluRay concert DVD on my MonoPrice BluRay player. Not very impressive. frown.gif Hopefully the Oppo can do better. And now I have an excuse to get 3D movies. smile.gif

When I register may VT60 with Panasonic they sent me an email indicating that Square Trade was the extended warranty company that they use. It states in home service and if it can not be fixed I think they refund the cost.

Fingers crossed for you, I hope you have as much luck as I did! And for anyone curious, I did check the build date on mine and it was October 2013. So I don't have any issue with fan noise either.

Woohoo! I guess these warehouse deals are returns from people that had buyer's remorse, were forced to return by their spouse or something similar? Both of ours were in such great condition with low number of hours.

I have a like new 65VT60 that I am considering selling. Less than 200 hours in perfect condition. I would only do a local pickup and would consider delivering it locally also. I was thinking about doing a craigslist ad. If this were you, how much would you ask for the 65VT60?

Thanks

2500. It really depends....if someone in your area can appreciate the picture quality, and knows about these sets, you will get some decent money. However, the typical consumer wants a 65'' LCD for under 1k.

I'm sure the Kuro also has better black levels than the ST50 but saying "it would blow that middling ST50 out of the water on black levels and shadow details" is a little over the top.

At the shootout, differences could be observed in low level content between the Kuro there and the VT/ZT/F8500, and since the 65ST50 performs under all of these, I don't think the terminology I used is necessarily hyperbolic (depending on the reference point). wink.gif
Does the VT look any better with the lights on or is that stop only held for the ZT?

Please advise as I can't pick the better deal:
1-New 60VT60 for $1599
or
2-Display 65VT60 w/550hrs, no burn-in. Only comes w/pedestal & No other accessories for $1399.

These r from 2 different authorized retailers & I won't be able to get a Squaretrade warranty on the 65" as they don't warranty open box unless it's from Amazon. However, my Visa CC will give me the additional year for both.

Thanks!

Second, that 5" is worth like $400 more and its less money, see if they will order you a remote

I'd say both a great deals. But that 65" with only 550 hours no burn in would be my pick.

Well, I cursed myself.

I went back for a closer look today at the 60VT60, and there is now 3200 hours on it, and there is ESPN in the lower right, bars across the bottom, and two outlines of rectangles on the upper left corner.  Is it possible to get burn in from just an additional 200 hours or so?  I'd swear when i first saw it (it was playing a TNT show) it did not have any of this at 3k hours.  Also, there is a tiny tiny crack in the plastic below the screen (not the screen, just the plastic).  fingerprints on the screen, etc etc.  All this for 1620 dollars out the door with 5 year warranty.  I know the picture quality is well above and beyond, but just seems like issue after issue

Or, i can still get a 65S60 NIB at my costco for 1199 + 99 squarestrade.

So, go new/big for 1300

or go better tv with some issues for 1620.

another sleepless night it appears

Meh the VT is a much better TV. The ST and VT both have anit-glare light rejection filters the S doesn't, for gaming the S does have better input lag but the PQ of the S will only match the others with the lights off in a dark room, uniformity will always be good but the blacks will appear grayish. With that said I wouldn't get a TV with burn in.

After getting screwed by the delivery company 3 times I finally went down and picked the 65vt60 up myself. It was an amazon pristine sale and to my surprise it was in perfect condition with all the accessories. I'm very surprised at how big this thing is and also how heavy. I can easily take down my old Sony KDL 55", but there's no way in hell I could even attempt to lift this thing. The picture on this thing is awesome and I can't wait to mess with the settings. The only thing I don't like or haven't figured out yet, is it doesn't interact with my remote and AVR as well as the Sony did. When I power on the TV it doesn't turn on the AVR but it will turn the AVR off when powered off. It doesn't send sound down to the AVR when watching Netflix. It also won't turn the volume up on the AVR like the Sony would. Can't seem to find these settings yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

I thought that Costco had the S64 model. Those have an anti-glare filter, I believe the same as the ST60

Yeah, bring up the issue on the VT60 thread here:
http://www.avsforum.com/t/1467563/official-panasonic-vt60-vt65-series-discussion-thread-no-street-price-talk

After reading and/or searching through it for your issue. It may have everything to do with the Viera Link settings and using HDMI2 for connection to the AVR (which is noted in the manual).

Well, sad to see that almost all of the VT60's are gone. I was hoping that the current stock would last a while longer - haven't quite talked my wife into a new set yet. biggrin.gif
