Humm, I guess you need to have a Costco membership? We have Sam's club in this area, Maybe I'll check the squad trade website itself and see what the deal is.
Also, since Panasonic is stopping the production of plasma TV does anyone know what their obligations would be 2,3,5 yrs down the road as far as warranty work, parts availability if needed etc... ??

Costco membership not needed. There's just an either 5 or 10% surcharge for nonmembers: http://www.costco.com/.product.11680336.html

I just bought the 65VT60 at PC Richards and Son. I went a few days ago and salesperson told me that the tv was not instock but they can have it delivered within a day or two to me. He said the tv was on sale for $2675 which is basically what most places have it at but the tax there is just 3%.

Well I did not pull trigger because I wanted to check other places so I called best buy to see if they would match east cost who has it under 2300 and they said no and went on to lecture me about trying to buy tv through that store. I was never going to just wanted matched price.

So I then called PC richards today and the guy from the store said the tv was not higher at $2750 and I said but just 2 days ago was 100 less. He said he would honor it and to ask for him at the store

So an hour later I went but the kid was not there and left to lunch. So this guy who works there said that he could help me and will give the other kid the sale credit. I told him I would wait instead but he said he was the manager on duty and it was no big deal. I told him that the kid was going to honor the sale and he said no problem and asked me the price and I said 2650. He said he would give me a better deal if i went through with the purchase of 2500. I said HELL YEA

So with tax the set came to 2580 and I bought 2 year deal with them for 250 and the TV will arrive to the store on Monday and I did not select shipment of $50 since my friend with a truck told me he would go to the store with me and pick it up MOnday.

I am stoked.

Trigger pulled finally smile.gif 65VT60 will be shipped out mon/tues $2399, went with the 5yr warranty for $299 and if not used will get $150 back in pauls store credit, decided to just do it all through PaulsTV and be done with it biggrin.gif
post #785 of 3263
Trigger pulled on a 55VT60. This will be my first ever purchase through PaulsTV, so hopefully all goes smooth. I am confident it will as long as there is no issue with the shipping or a bum panel to begin with.

Any valid codes for the 60VT60 from Paul's? I would like to do an Amazon price match.

Unfortunately, you can't apply a code or price match to an item that's out of stock since you can't add it to the cart in the first place.

I got this tip from another avsforum member but if you ordered the VT60 from amazon and had them price match Paul's there might be some money or goodies on the table for you due to amazon's price match policy..

Currently the VT60's come with a free sound bar worth $215 and if you are in the 14 day window for price match they will either set you up to order the sound bar at no cost or in my case credit the value of the sound bar back to the card you used to buy the set in the first place. My OTD cost is now just a tad over $1700 on the 60" model even with CA sales tax and $5 electronics recycling fee. On top of that I have another $100 rebate from the utility for upgrading to an energy efficient TV bringing my total cost to just over $1600 with taxes. Not bad on a set that originally had a SRP of $3000, eh?

How did/do you exercise the soundbar price match discount? Chat or Call?
How does a plasma panel qualify as an energy-efficient TV?

Chat, but I bet the phone works too. The thing with chat is that you can cut/paste links and copies of their own policies, etc.

It is LED as far as they know.
Should have asked this as well, but what if you already got a price match on it?
I did already match Pauls on the initial purchase as I didn't have to contact them after the sale to get the price lowered so it was only one transaction without a credit applied at all.

This was post purchase and they didn't hiccup at all plus their policy states lower price OR other promotion. The sound bar is another promotion..
Well, no such luck for me. They did acknowledge the policy and did agree to send me the soundbar, but they wouldn't adjust the purchase price of my VT60.

I chose to pass for now as I have zero need to the soundbar, but I may try again tomorrow.
For those that don't need the soundbar but can get it for free, why not just sell it on eBay? It should go for a couple of hundred dollars there. That's what I plan to do if Amazon agrees to price match Paul's for me.
What specific day did the soundbar become available as a promotion? Anyone?

Take it and sell it or give it to a friend for Christmas. Never pass on free stuff.

I don't know but it is for a limited time now. I became aware of it Monday but didn't think to post it.

Damn you! wink.gif

Still no valid deals on the 60VT60? I'm ready to pull the trigger but it appears I missed the deals from a week or two ago. I will continue to sight tight and hope that we see something soon!

I suppose it worked out in the end anyhow?
No dice for me on the sound bar deal with Amazon. Basically they said that they were giving the sound bar away since the TV's price was $2700 (this is the 65VT60), but since I only paid $2399 for the TV, I didn't qualify for the sound bar. Fair enough.
Try again.
Tried again but still no go on any further price adjustment. So I opted for the soundbar, which looks intriguing. Might keep it but the plan now is to eBay and offset.

There, feel better?

PS. It was $5043 last week!

Gadzooks ... $5000+? What is with that? The Canadian Panasonic web site lists MSRP for a 65VT60 as $3999.99. Heck, even the Canadian 65ZT60 MSRP is slightly less at $4999.99.

I have to wonder if ANY VT and ZT Pannys are being sold in Canada.

FS and BB selling 65" VTs at $3999.99 with 5 left at FS and 6 at BB. Supposedly ONE last shipment of STs coming in before Christmas, and that's it. Other's say that's it already!

I hope Paul's gets the coupon back. I got cold feet last night on the 65" VT60, but I'm ready to order it now.
