New theater speaker suggestion

Building a new theater in a basement. Room is small though. 15x15. So looking to do bipolar speakers on the rear wall and just do a 5.1 setup.

Can anyone suggest some good Bipolar speakers in the $200 range or so? I'm on a budget so its not been easy to find speakers for this.

THanks
Shane

Your budget is too low. I suggest saving up and getting a nice, matching speaker/sub setup. Better to wait than get mediocre quality.

Do you want to do the whole setup for $200 or just a pair of bipole?

If its just the pair, the best I can think of are these

They should be fine for surrounds.

Then you'd need to find the rest of the Mordaunt Short Carnival lineup. I found the Carnival 6 towers here in the Calvados finish: http://www.amazon.com/Mordaunt-Carnival-Floorstanding-Speakers-Pair-Calvados/dp/B004H6OZMW/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1367189226&sr=1-6

Accessories4less has the Carnival 5 center for $99

I was just talking the rear for the $200. I was going to use some Polk TSi300's for the front.

Heck, those Mordaunt Short Carnival's, while hard to find, would be better sounding and better built than the Polks. They're just not what they used to be, and I used to own Polk speakers.

Are you opposed to other options besides bipolar surrounds and adjusting your budget a tad?

These are great speakers for surround usage:

In fact, the entire Ascend lineup has received accolades aplenty on this and other forums and pro reviews for people looking for quality at a reasonable price. They'd do a lot better than the Polk's.

You really want to stay within the same model range for your speakers for the best timbre matching.

Arx speakers, from theaudioinsider.com are also excellent for the money.

The Klipsch RW-12d sub, for a good budget woofer, fluctuates in price on Newegg.com all the time. Sometimes it's around $280 on sale, but you just have to keep an eye out.

If you can handle mixing the calvados (brown) and black, here is an incredible deal on Amazon

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Very-Nice-Pair-of-Mordaunt-Short-Carnival-6-Floorstanding-Speakers-ice-/321113796648?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item4ac3dfb028#shId

For what its worth I have TSI300 in front and Carnival 1's in back and they work together just fine. You can get some nice deals on Polks direct from their eBay store.

I'm not all against changing up my budget a little or looking at different options. I was just thinking for the little room I'm working with and with the speakers on the back wall that the bipolar would work really well
