Holy crap. I'm speechless. All I can say to anyone clicking on that is let it play out! Awesome.

I think it's time to party like it's 1986.

King Crimson - Dinosaur

My theme song

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Long ago and far away in a different age
when I was a dumb young guy
fossilized photos of my life then
illustrate what an easy prey I must have been
standing in the sun, idiot savant
something like a monument
I'm a dinosaur, somebody is digging my bones

ignorance has alway been something I excel in
followed by naivete and pride
doesn't take a scientist to see how
any clever predator could have a piece of me
standing in the sun, idiot savant
something like a monument
I'm a dinosaur, somebody is digging my bones

when I look back on the past
it's a wonder I'm not yet extinct
all the mistakes and bad judgements I made
nearly pushed me to the brink
it doesn't pay to be too nice
it's the one thing I have learned
still, I made my fossil bed
now I toss and turn

I'm a dinosaur, somebody is digging my bones

Hehe. I dated a girl in another age that happened to work at Tower Records. On the third or so date, we were overlooking L.A. on Mulholland .You know, - "parking". She's rummaging through my tapes and I'm checking her out smile.gif I had some badass Sansui two ways that sounded so awesome.. Anyway, she finds Fripp and Eno, I think it was morning sun or something. She looks at me all serious and says something like " I've worked there for three years and saw that tape and wondered who the hell would listen to something like that". I said something like "Uhh, hey bebe, somebody like me or something?." It was a good night smile.gif

I remember getting access to that tape and feeling the need to hide it. I was always blown away by the Abraham Lincoln line. That Dirty Nursery Rhyme was like listening to all the kids talk at my school.

I've been thinking about Darths excellent story about discovering S.P. since he posted it. Mine was different but I still remember it vividly.

Early 90's, typical boring SNL broadcast .The late eighties had pretty much turned to shet and I was a little frustrated with the whole scene. Then these guys came on. Five seconds in and I was like "OMG this is the Wall Of Sound I've been praying for!" A couple days later a friend and I spent a day at a moto track a hundred miles away and we listened to Siamese Dream all the way home. Love at first sight and it hasn't dropped of since then.

Took a while to find, for some reason it's not on Utoob. Looks like some Czech site or something. But this was it for me.
