Tomb Raider already selling for only $20, kinda weird...

I'm kinda surprised that Tomb Raider is already selling for only $20 on PC. That was a pretty quick drop. Seems like although they shipped 3 million copies to retailers, they didn't sell all that many, because on 360 and PS3, it's $29.99 everywhere now, and it's only $20 on PC. I'm almost tempted to buy it...

You should - it's a solid game if you liked the Uncharted series on PS3.

I've been trying to pick it up since yesterday morning. It says "Out of Stock" every time I try.

If I understand correctly, GMG gets a certain amount of unique codes per game to sell. That's why when placing an order, you have a limited amount of time to complete the order, or the code goes "back on the shelf", so to speak.

So they must be out of Tomb Raider codes, which, at that price, isn't surprising.

GMG doesn't like my money.

I just read it's back in stock at GMG while supplies last. Sale ends today.

Don't forget voucher code GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA

Amazing game! Just finished it on the Xbox over the weekend but I'm tempted to pick it up again to play on my PC. The graphics with TressFX enabled look incredible!

Wow, this game looks so much nicer on the PC! I mean the console versions looked impressive on their own but the game is just so much smoother on the PC even with TressFX enabled. The hair is not totally realistic but looks really good most of the time.

Looking forward to going back through the game a 2nd time and enjoying all the sights smile.gif

It was available for $35 before the release so it's not surprising. Great game - especially on PC.

"Great game - especially on PC."

When it lets you actually play the game instead of a dressed-up QTE, and when it doesn't trip all over itself trying half-assly to reference Apocalypse Now. There is a fantastic game buried within Tomb Raider. It's just bogged down with some enormous flaws.

The moment to moment exploration and gun-play is brilliantly done. The engine spits out gorgeous renders. The art direction is fantastic. It's extra year of polish really shows.

On the other hand, it desperately needed an editor's hand to cut out the garbage. The game was a good 30% too long for the story that it wanted to tell. Every time it took control away from the player made me want to shoot myself. Whether as a QTE or a cutscene, that crap was far too common and far too obvious. Lara turned from innocent to warrior in a flash, but any time a male character was around she immediately went back to being a whimpering child. "Oh noes, save me substitute father figure or ignored boy with a crush!"

I give Tomb Raider both a 9/10 and a 4/10. That does not average to a 6.5/10, as it is very distinctly both scores. I can't quite decide if it is a good game wrapped in the cloth of a bad game, or a terrible game masquerading as something great.

I found the QTE's to be nicely done and really not that common(other than the beginning). I also quite enjoyed the cut-scenes. Lastly I quite enjoyed playing a game where the main character actually acted somewhat human.

I would have happily played the game for another 10 hours, and found that where they stretched the story they made it interesting.

Great gameplay and great storytelling. If you don't like how they tell the story, you can still enjoy it just be patient.

Holy heck in a handbasket! Steam has a Tomb Raider package for 35 bucks. Includes the new Tomb Raider plus Tomb Raider 1-6 plus Legend: Anniversary :Underworld.
I don't think my little SSD can hold all these games but I just hit the buy button.
