help with removing a damaged binding post terminal

Thread Starter
I got two pairs of the binding posts for my subwoofer build. they are the simple ones where you drill 1/4" holes and bang them in there. one came crossthreaded and they are sending a replacement. Is there a proper way to bang the damaged one out of the box without screwing up the hole size, and the paint finish?

Would hate to have an air leak from this, or have an ugly box from it. Let me know the best way to go about this, please. On the last one, i gooped up some wood glue around the area once i got everything tightened down, and i figure ill do that on this one, too.

Is the nut still stuck on the back?

Just curious, were they the ones from PE? I've never cross threaded that type before, but someone else had a similar issue where they stripped the threads on a pair I sent in a kit. That was the only time I'd heard of an issue with that type of binding post.
