Nelson Pass, by the way, never had anything to do with designing Nakamichi amplifiers. Nakamichi's own engineers design all of their equipment.
It is a class A amplifier and therefore runs rather hot, which is normal for it.
If you want a really good amplifier at a fairly reasonable price, look at the Vincent 331; that is an excellent one that will work well with those speakers.
More misinformation from the master.
Nakamichi licensed and produced an amp based on Nelson Pass's design when he was at Threshold, if I remember my 1980s audio correctly.
The Emotiva will be fine, as will the Nakamichi if it's still operating properly (which may or may not be the case).
The Vincent struggles to drive low impedance loads at high volumes.
