Hey ...so far 1115 is doin fine ....unrelated question: Netflix 3D ....anyone get a fluid uninterrupted session? Regular HD always and still works great but haven't had luck
With 3D ...at least not yet (FWIW tried wireless and wired ) and resetting router etc. Have Fuos so don't think bandwidth is the issue...

I understand That YOu've dwindled to computer ...unzipped to USB and then stuck it in the TV USB port ...after that just do a routine software upgrade like u always do and the tv will self detect and ask if u want to upgrade few from USB just say yes.ALSO PIRATE POSTED THE PDF LINK few posts back ....Goid luck!

Power off the display.

Use a Samsung IR remote with a number pad, press the following keys on the remote in succession.

Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power.

The display will power on and enter the service menu shortly thereafter, a few seconds after the SmartTV logo goes away.

If it doesn't work, turn off and try again.

Quick question I happen to b one of the few people who like the soap opera look. But for some reason my picture stutters from Time to time with it on smooth on auto motion so I'm asking how can I have the soap opera look without the blur?

This LED technology does NOT have lamps inside. It is a LCD display panel with LED back lighting. Don't know what you read but I think it was for a old technology that used Red, Green & Blue lamps. By the way, what image are you showing us in your "Color Banding" post? Does this same image look OK on a different TV?

That's a limit of 8-bit Color, there is no fix.

You need would need a 24-bit Color HDTV....which may not exist.

so at best buy i noticed the bezel for the 60 inch is a lot thicker than the bezel for the 55 or 65 inch. kept looking at the model # too thinking it has to be a 6300 or something.

i was on the fence between 55 and 60, but the thicker bezel is a deal breaker for me.

here are some youtube videos, the bezel is obviously thicker.

also checked samsungs website, bezel measurements are as follows.
55" - .2 inches
60" - .5 inches
65" - .3 inches

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJzI_79JvxE

go to 9:33 mark
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5-7bX7PP0Y

anybody know why the 60 inch has a thicker bezel?

I have the 6300, and the bezel is actually semi-transparent, so especially with ambient light behind it, it looks really cool, as it shines through the bezel.

I thought it was because the 60 has a sharp panel.  I got the 60 and while the 55 looked cool with a narrow bezel, I'm very happy I went with the 60.

Hey folks! Well I made the plunge & bought a new UN65F7100. I haven't tried setting it up yet; I'll start that tomorrow. But I thought I'd ask some advice on calibrated settings. And yes I know that no (2) TV's are the same & what looks good on one may not on the other, but I'd like to have some good starting points. I looked through many pages in this thread & haven't found any full settings. I did find on another thread some calibrated settings for the 8000 series; I believe those were done by "buzzard767," Has anyone here gone through a full-blown calibration & if so, possibly not mind sharing those settings or referring me to another link. Several days ago, I was doing some browsing & found (on another site) a tech's calibrated settings that had the charts, graphs, etc, but I cannot find that web-site now. Any help would be appreciated as a starting point. I don't really need day & night settings; our HT viewing room is pretty dark (day or night) & I have bias lighting (6500K) behind the set that I will be using once i get everything hooked up.

Thanks,

Edit: Also, did I read somewhere that once I get the unit set up, that the latest firmware cannot be downloaded via wi-fi & that it must be done via usb? That surely can't be the case?

The internal frame around the 60" panel could be larger, or maybe samsung likes larger bezels around 60" tv's.

Another picture this is on my Wii U so theres no fix for this?

Hi ...from the picture it appears To be a factor of the material and not the TV .Afaik wii is not HD (480) that plus a bigger screen tends to highlights such issues .If u feed it a 1080 source say from a blue ray and see the problem then maybe it's a problem w TV but I doubt that. Hope it helps!!

Hi All,

New to AVS forum and first time post. I recently purchased a Samsung UN65F7100 from Amazon and the picture looks outstanding. Only complaint would be the clouding / flashlighting I'm noticing in dark scenes. I've tried multiple inputs, lowering the backlight and contrast and still seems to have the issue. I know edge lit TVs are notorious for this issue, but wondering if my case is worse then normal?

I've attached a couple of pics. This is in movie mode with backlight set to 10 -

Not sure if I should exchange it for another set or if my chances of getting anything better are slim.
