The first day, 3d worked perfect and all the glasses functioned. I updated the software and completed all of the setup operations. The glasses were shut off when the movie was finished.
The second day, I can’t get any of the four glasses to work. Before, a quick push on the power button results in a green light on the glasses. This isn't happening. I can hold the button (red/green flashing), but the glasses won't pair with the TV. The tv is in 3d mode. I tried disconnecting the power to the TV and taking the batteries out of the glasses, but no luck. I also tried doing a hard reset on the tv, but this didn't solve the problem. My phone pairs with the tv, so bluetooth is functional.
I contacted Samsung yesterday, but the tv model so new that they don’t have support for it. Samsung said they will contact me today (we will see if this actually happens). to try and narrow down the problem, I plan to take the glasses to Best Buy tonight to try and sync them with one of their TV’s.
I think the TV has an unknown software bug, but we will see. If I can’t get resolution on this by the weekend, I will be packing it up and bringing it to Best Buy. I hesitate to do this because it will take most of the day to remove it from the wall, pack it up, return it, and reinstall the new TV.
So, am I missing something obvious? My previous TV was a Sony Trinitron, so there is a steep learning curve.
My next question is about eye strain. I watched about 1 hour of 3D, and my eyes still hurt two days later. Has anyone directly compared eye strain in passive vs active 3D? This is difficult to compare in the store. If I have to return it, I would consider an LG LA7400 instead.
Anyhow, thanks for reading this long post. I know this is my first post, but I am not a Samsung basher or someone trying to start a flame war. I am a legitimate owner of this model.
