So I've had this TV for a couple weeks now, 65 inch version. I went through a lot of TVs last year so I have quite a basis for comparison. Various sizes, plasma vs lcd, etc. Front projection. I'm reading lots of questions and issues with people asking about image quality and settings and motion issues, etc. I'm offering this up to maybe help people differentiate what is an issue with the TV itself and what is something else. For starters, turn all of the processing off. All the noise reduction, frame interpolation, dynamic black and white settings, all of it except for cinema black. All of those settings can create artifacts and fluctuations. Now put in a bluray and see how things look. I wouldn't use anything else when determining picture quality. This set (along with others I have tried) are sensitive to source material, especially at larger sizes. Its like a good set of speakers. Great recordings will sound great, but garbage will sound horrible. Same principle here. Anything less than bluray 1080p quality will show the problems. I'm guessing most of the poor picture and movement complaints are due to compressed cable/satellite signals. My directv shows obvious artifacts and crappy picture on my TV. Bluray is amazing. I know this is due to signal, not the TV. So far, I am extremely impressed with this set and it's far, far better than most of the others I have tried. Head over to the vizio , LG, or Sony owners threads. Many were looking at this set due to the issues they have with theirs. Unless you are paying top dollar for the F8000 or similar set, nothing you find out there is going to be any better. From what I've auditioned in my home, most of it much worse. Best of luck and I hope everyone is enjoying their new set.
