Can we get some pics of this tv in this thread? I wish there would be a video on youtube as well. :/
post #62 of 4994
I just tried to order the 60" on BestBuy.com and it's saying I can't pick it up at the nearest store or have it delivered to me? What the hell?

High res pics coming right up later today. After I get home from work. I might even post a video on youtube just to show off the tv. Don't expect too much of a commentary though. So far I've loaded up my SSD with 1080p videos and the TV has played them all without problem.

i have yet to try this, what format are your movies in?

EDIT: I stopped being lazy and answered this myself. For anyone wondering, seems like it plays my videos just fine. mpeg, mkv, avi...etc impressed!

55 inch. I just uploaded the video so it'll take a bit of time for 1080p to show up.

Outstanding images and video....

I still can't stand, the chicken-foot stand.

I have a D series square black and clear stand attached.

I wish Samsung promoted more stand options:

The F7000 in Europe has a killer stand:

I quite like the stand. It was actually the first thing that got me interested in this TV. It reminds me of a Cylon basestar.
i have the 60" coming this weekend. Do you guys think 11 feet is good for a 60" ?

I feel you, I'm a HUGE Battlestar Galactica fan....biggrin.gif

Its just the limited surface contact area for the 4 legs...

I have a metal frame shelf and the square base is better for stability.

Also I find the shinny silver base distracting, I like the darker-matte silver on the bezel.

Do you guys think the 4k tv will be cheaper in 2014. I dont want to pay 2k for a tv and next year 4k tvs are cheaper.

I adjusted accordingly, so its worth checking settings after a firmware update.

I agree, the stand sucks big time. Everything is perfect about this TV but I don't think i can stand using the TV stand and will have to mount this sucker.

Anyone know if the F8000 or ES8000 stand will work these set?

My 60" is about that far back and I'm pretty happy with the size.

Hey Widowmaker,

Thanks for the posts and video. Question for everyone: I bought the UN60F7050 from Costco last week which I think is the same as the 7100. I think it has awesome picture quality when viewed head on but the image washes out very quickly as the viewing angle shifts. The only thing I have to compare it with is my old 52" Sony XBR4 (LCD too) which up and died on me. My old Sony had a way wider viewing angle then the new Samsung. The new Samsung is great to about 20 degrees off center (on either side - I'm measuring it as dead on being 0 degrees and extending out 90 degree to the side). By 30 degrees it is quite noticible and by 45 it is very washed out. I noticed on widowmakers vidoe the image stayed colorful way out to the side. Could this vary from panel to panel? I'm kind of a newbie so any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

KJ

Possibly, as most 60" Samsung panels are made by Sharp.

What type of panel do you have? The panel type is located on the right rear, on a square label.

I have the TD01 Panel.

Thanks for the pics and video. TV looks great. A Sasquatch could be holding up this TV for all I care. I'll make a quick visit to Best Buy on Friday to see it in person and probably pull the trigger soon after.

Aloha Pirates Cove,

Mine say HH01 on the label. I wonder if all the Costco panels would be the same model. We are kind of limited on what we can get here and most companies won't ship or it costs a fortune.

That's definitely a Sharp panel..so it may vary slightly from the 46", 55" and 65" all made by Samsung.

Has anyone ever tried recording their own 3d video and playing it on a 3d tv? I have an LG P925 which can record 3d video but this tv wasn't able to recognize the file. Maybe I'll make a 3d video of this TV and share it here to see if anyone else can get it working.

On a side note, I wonder what would happen if you record a 3d video of a tv playing a 3d video. O.O

I just ordered the Costco 60 inch f7050 a few days ago and am worried now about the comments I just saw on the image washout. Are all 60 inch panels not made by samsung? Is there generally a huge difference between the panels made by sharp and samsung? I ordered with white glove delivery so I can reject the shipment if I have an issue with the tv. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I looked on the back of mine and see the HH01 label meaning it's a Sharp panel. PiratesCove, you said yours was a TD01 manufactured by Samsung. Is your model a 60 inch or is it a different size? I'm noticing a marked drop in contrast and saturation at even small angles from center in my 60 inch model. Also there is a noticeable amount of "flashlighting" during menu screens and credits (white text on black background). Do you see these on yours?

Almost every 60" Samsung has a Sharp panel F8000, F7500, F7100 etc. its normal.

I see mild flashlighting also, The picture doesn't degrade/washout at angles that quickly, atleast not as bad as the ES7100.

All the panels are more similar than different- I have the 46".

Try turning down the backlight or use the eco sensor, try less than 10.

80% huh, i'm thinking of ordering one of the stand for the 65 inch now in hopes that it works with the un65f7100 I plan on purchasing in July.

Also the "chicken foot stand" on the 7 series's use nicer materials, it isn't like cheap plastic and the stand has some weight to it. I guess because its there top of the line models. I actually don't mind the stand either.
