Same problem happened to me 4 times in 45 min-2 hrs, but happened at top of screen & bottom of screen but not at same time.
Brand new TV 30 hrs of use. Quality
Samsung 55" Smart LED TV Model:UN55F7050AFXZA (its Costco bundle adds wireless keyboard & four 3D glasses, has UN55F7100 printed on bottom of box)
Version: TD01 Firmware version: 1104Symptoms:
while watching a letter boxed DVD (HDMI #2 input connected player Anynet+ off) about 45 min into it, a quarter inch white square dances from right to left, from bottom to top alternating in letterbox area, about 1 inch from top of TV in a continuously looping pattern. Can happen on bottom of screen too. Pausing DVD player did not stop problem. Switching inputs causes white square to pause but stuck in same spot regardless of input. White square will change color depending on background video.
Turning Cinema Black setting to high or medium on TV resulted in no change in problem, setting to low or off, white square paused. So my layman's guess is its a problem with Cinema Black that needs to be fixed, hopefully not a hardware fix!Work around:
by turning off TV and back on. But obviously not a permanent solution. But it is a repeatable since i saw similar problem to your example screen shots. Was able to reproduce it 4 times in 45 min-2hrs
Talked to Samsung support they never heard this problem.
They don't have access to email so could not send a link to this post. (Samsung support techs are useless if they can't use email or web to communicate)
Support told me all diagnostics check out via testing, using remote support. Told me to call support when I see the problem & leave problem on TV so they can remotely see it.
When i saw the problem again 45 min-2hrs again called Samsung support, they remote supported in, couldn't see the problem.
Since i mentioned above that its maybe related to Cinema Black (turns of leds on letter boxed movies at black bar area), they will not be able to see it via remote support, because its a local function on TV (turning off Leds) not a picture or video element.
Support said they would escalate it to engineering, but not confident about a fix anytime soon:(
Also since it takes so long to reproduce problem having tech come out to fix is pointless.
I took screenshots & video for evidence of problem.
I gonna have to exchange it back at Costco, lucky i bought 3 year warranty
Bleeding edge bugs! Hate being a Beta tester!
