The first 7100 I had did not have this issue and I had it for about a month. However, I returned it because after getting it home found that it was an open-box item when I had paid for a new item.
Have had the second one for about two weeks now and just last night started to notice the white boxes while playing Youtube. I only have one source; a HTPC connected to HDMI 1. I did update the TV to firmware 1.5 on Sunday, so not sure if this has anything to do with it.
I did a complete reset on the TV as other posts had suggested, but about five minutes later the white boxes came back. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I'm calling Best Buy/Samsung tomorrow to see what can be done about the issue.
Too bad, I hardly ever use the Smart Hub/ Apps -HDMI 1 so its not just streaming.
Luckily I've never seen the "Dancing White Boxes"
I had to do two
factory resets -so another couldn't hurt.
I'm almost 90% sure all our issues are firmware related.
Firmware 1102 was really different from the original firmware type.
I believe that Samsung making a "one-size-fits-all" firmware for the: "LED F5500/F6300/F6350/F6400/F6800/F7050/F7010
, PDP F5500" causes major bugs in the F7100's system.
Samsung didn't even bother to get the model number right (F7010)- they misplace one 0 for a 1 and the values are off.
Firmware is digital, just 0s and 1s so all it takes is one digit out of place in the code....
