Is hipelectro.com a reliable online seller?

Someone is trying to buy a VT50 here and is wondering if this store is reliable. I've never heard of this store either until he showed me. The prices seem to be good. I assume they're not probably official Panasonic dealers, so no warranty. He's out of country so it really doesn't matter to him as long as the product is solid.

I cant find much on them and what I do find is suspicious...The positive ratings seem all to be form teh same "area" which usually points to fluffing the reviews.....If the price is too good to be true then it probably is....

They arent on reseller ratings and I coulndt find them on the BBB site, at least under the name hipelectro

Panasonic doesn't require any of their retailers to be authorized - as long as you have a receipt from a legitimate retailer then the warranty will be honored.

But this "retailer" is sketchy - they have no history on the internet yet they pop up out of nowhere with a huge list of products, with Free Shipping on everything (even work out equipment that weighs over $1,000 pounds LOL), and it's odd that they only sell 2012 and 2011 Panasonic and Samsung Plasmas even though the 2013 models have been out for months now.

And if that site claims to ship TVs to other countries then it's definitely a scam because retailers only sell TVs in their own countries - they are never shipped out of country.

Another big red flag is that you have to create an account in order to add anything to your "Cart" and they require you to input a lot of personal information which is really suspicious. That site possibly only exists to steal your identity and credit card numbers that you type into the fields, and scammers know that people use the same passwords for Amazon and online banking as they do for email etc so they're hoping to harvest passwords as well.

Thanks, Randy. By the way, he's using a shipping forwarding service, the store themselves do not ship abroad. I already let him know to give up on the VT50 and look for either ST60 or F8500 instead.

I wish I had seen your comment before I placed an order from Hipelectro.com. A lot of red flags about this website. I placed an order on the 25 of April. When checking out, it directed me to Amazon.com to purchase a gift card as payment, yet I chose to ignore the sign because of the cheap price. The way they accept payment made me thought that they're affiliate with Amazon site. Pay $699.00 for a Fishfinder that was marked "shipped" on the 29 of April and supposedly to be delivered on the 7-8 of May according to their confirmation email. I sent an email on the 30 of April requesting a tracking number, I never received one. Contacted them by mail; called the phone that is listed on the website, I did this many times, all I got was a voice mail asking to leave message but never answered my inquiry about tracking number or shipment of the item and its whereabouts. Finally got an email back from them on May 7 informing me that they're asking the supplier to send replacement or offer full refund. Till now I'm still awaiting for them to tell me when and how they will proceed my $699.00 refund since I paid them with Amazon gift card as they requested. The Amazon gift card has long been redempted and I never received my item or a refund yet.
You're right about all these good reviews about Hipelectro.com. Last week we wrote a negative review at MerchantCircle.com about Hipelectro so nobody has to go throught what I'm experiencing right now, yet somehow the negative review has been removed from MerchantCircle site. All you see are happy customers with positive reviews about Hipelectro. So beware of merchantscircle.com
As well!

Sorry that you got snookered, but at least it wasn't a $3,000 TV!!

Please post your experience and warnings on ResellerRatings.com - someone else posted about them there but did not buy from them as there were too many red flags.

Good for you. ResellerRatings dot com seems to be the best and most reputable internet retailer review site and they will leave your scam warnings and negative review up for all to see. I dealt with them when we were exposing EC TV's shady fake reviews and they took great interest in making them prove the reviews were real as well as doing their own investigation on the one-post reviewers and to their credit they removed dozens and dozens of obviously faked reviews. But there are so many fake reviews for so many shady retailers that it's impossible to vet every review no matter how fake it looks,

When i read a company's reviews, i tend to ignore the overly-glowing multi-paragraph reviews from people with only one review that read like a marketing brochure. Instead, i focus on the negative reviews since those tend to be real people that got screwed and got pissed off enough to post a negative review. These usually look legit and honest and there wouldn't be so many of these horror stories if the company were as good as the fake reviews would leave you to believe.

There seems to be a lot of scam-busting sites and so-called review sites that actually are seemingly affiliated with or maybe even owned and operated by scammers so you never know if what you're reading is legit or false.

My experience is similar. I wanted to buy some Snapjack Guitar cables and accessories. I found these at Hip Electro. First, I filled out typical account registration info. I received a confirmation email, Welcome to Hip Electro. I then placed my order under my HipElectro profile. I received an order confirmation email with a link on payment instructions.

It instructed me to buy an Amazon gift card and send the redemption code as a pdf to payments@hipelectro.com

They have already redeemed the card and the package never arrived. So I am out $80.

I'd enjoy it if someone hand delivered me the scum who perpetrated this scheme. Ian Clarke? Theresa A. Perkins? Likely not your real names. Come to my home so as I might dispatch you to your cesspool of a maker you filthy animals. Upon that condition being met, I will then thank you kindly for your business....

Regards and STAY far AWAY from hipelectro.com,
ac

They make you pay with a gift card and that doesnt raise red flags?? Come on man!

Thank you Randy, for your advises, compassion, and support!
I did take your advise and try to post a negative review on Hipelectro.com, but a bit late.... Look like they scammed enough money from people by now.
All those positive reviews of Hipelectro.com on MerchantCircle.com has disappeared without a trace, same as Hipelectro.com site. Now it's only up to Amazon.com to do an investigation on these low-life scumbags that redeemed the Amazon gift card on Amazon.com. Hope they catch these criminals and lock them up for the good of society.

I'm not sure amazon has that kind of authority.

I was baited b/c the snapjack cables which are arguably somewhat hard to find online and lol even harder to obtain.

Thus, the posting was created with the intent of luring ambitious individuals, such as myself.

I will be reporting to Amazon in hopes someone else will not be duped. As if Amazon is anybody interested...

Too good to be true...

One can only hope that amazon will cooperate in taking these goons down....BUT Amazon does retain records of who claimed the gift card prize so there is a glimmer of hope... Id be willing to give a sizeable reward (larger than the monetary amount that I lost) to whoever can bring these crooks to justice.

But likely it depends on how widespread the scam is....if they are banking high $$$ someone gonna take them out....but they probably only pulling a couple thousand every other month or so...then close down site and open up under a new name trying to lure more

currently the website is down ....I like to think they are being flooded by constant DOS attacks *LOL*

The above thought seems to comfort me....Karma does too..
