Doesnt the 840 (just recently bought it) do 4K as well for several of the HMDI outputs? It had three for BD, game, and video. No way of trying these out since I don't have a 4K display but I imagine it would be the same for the 1040 as well.
I've been very impressed with this receiver and am still discovering things on it. I know that the receiver can be turn on via Bluetooth from my iPhone 5. Once I turn it on and select the receiver it automatically comes on and can begin playing music from my phone.
The bass response is pretty powerful, even with the SW dial set just under half and the dB set at 0 after doing audio calibration.
I haven't seen a thread for the 840 yet but have been pulling some thoughts from this one. While it lacks the additional hdmi, more elaborate GUI, it is about $150 cheaper which was in my budget range since I couldn't find a 1040 on sale anywhere.
I know the TV SideView and MediaRemote apps will work with the 840. I still haven't tried the SEN function to so any streaming of music services online yet but like that it's a feature.
