It's being delivered tomorrow. SWEET !

Great deals for both of you guys- good job. It seems getting BBY to work with you is getting easier for some.

Their reputation is mixed so check here: http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/electronic-equipment-and-supplies-dealers/abe-s-of-maine-camera-and-electronics-in-edison-nj-27002918

Check with BestBuy for a price match.

UGH..so close to my magic price of $2600! Once it hits that price...I jump...LOL.
Dang. I went to BB magnolia yesterday but they wouldn't match Abe's, citing the return policy. Good job guys.
So the 64 is going for 3399, and folks were able to get them to knock 299 off of goodies, wouldnt that be 3100? How did folks get it for 2999?
Just be polite and negotiate. If it doesn't work at one BBY then try another. Good Luck!

Got my 64" for $3100. MHT said they wouldn't budge on price even though Samsung is having a promotion for free gear. I directed them to eastcoastti.com and they gave me $299 off the TV plus 36 month financing. This is the first price reduction I was able to get from MHT. I may have gotten more of a priced reduction if I waffled, but I believe I got a fair deal so I took it. The manager was standing next to the salesman when I said I was interested in the TV which was very helpful. All other times with no managers around, no budging on the price of the TV. TV to be delivered in 4 days. Upgrading from a 60" F8500. Not going to buy another TV for 5 years so I decided to get the biggest F8500 I could smile.gif

I only have one best buy with magnolia remotely close (I have to drive 45 minutes to get there). Is this something I could try at a regular BB, or would I have to do it at magnolia?

I went to a regular bestbuy first, but they didn't have the F8500 at all since it is a magnolia item.

If your in NJ go to IEI in Hazlet on Rt.36. I just bought one today.
What price did IEI have?
It wasn't advertised, but I just picked up a 51f8500 for $1800 cdn plus tax at Visions Electronics in Winnipeg.

The current promo for a free soundbar, audio dock or tv will end this weekend 6/15. Anyone know if they will be offering a new promo? Before this one, they were offering a tablet. Not that I'm interested in any of the freebies, but they can be used to negotiate a better price.

East Coast has it for $2615 this weekend: http://www.eastcoasttvs.com/Samsung-Plasma-HDTV-p/pn64f8500.htm

Going to find out whether it's legit or not. Started a thread to document the process: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1477270/the-east-coast-tvs-experiment

So, I just got back from the Magnolia/Best Buy in El Segundo California (Los Angeles area).

Got the East Coast TV price of $2,532.02 for the 64" F8500, no questions asked. Out the door with CA tax was $2764.90. Free delivery, should be here on Wednesday.

If you're looking for this, talk to JASON S. He's actually knowledgeable, reads forums, knew about the shootout, etc.

If you need the receipt, I can post it [when I get around to it] but if you're in the LA/OC area, I would just roll down to El Segundo and talk to Jason. I couldn't be happier with the experience.

Wow, what an amazing price!! I'm gonna try this at my local BB but not getting my hopes up.
Well, I tried it. I just went to my local best buy with an East coast TV shopping cart print out and they matched it no problem for $2,589 for 64 inch. Awesome!!!

Glad you got the deal! You forgot to apply the coupon code...coulda saved an extra $60 or so.

But I'm surprised other people are having a hard time with this. Like I said, my experience was painless; I even made the guy enter in the coupon code, and he was fine doing that.

Worth a shot, but it's very misleading since the coupon code only applies if you pay with a certified check, money order or wire transfer.

It's not surpising that other people are having a hard time with this because it's Best Buy's policy to only price match these online retailers:

"Amazon.com, Apple.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Buy.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, Frys.com, hhgregg.com, HP.com, HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, Newegg.com, OfficeDepot.com, OfficeMax.com, Sears.com, Staples.com, Target.com, TigerDirect.com and Walmart.com."

I actually applied the 2% off coupon code and East coast also applied a "Customer Appreciation" discount of an addition $15, which brought the total down to $2,522.22 but Best Buy only would match the Regular price before these discounts of $2,589. I didn't argue due to the fact I was very happy for them to match them at all considering its not on their list. biggrin.gif

Thanks jeremola, I tried your ECTV price match, went to the Rosecran BB instead of El Segundo but they still matched the deal. I was getting ready to just buy the 60" until I read your post last night. So I printed out the ECTV price for the 64" and it took 5 minutes for Chris came back and said they would price match.
Thanks again.
Anyone have a place where they buy there 3D Blu-rays DVD's?

The one in El Segundo is right off Rosecrans, but you probably went to the one right off the 405. Either way, congrats! I'm glad I could help!

Just tried to price match the 64f8500 here in San Antonio and they wouldn't do it. Makes me wonder if I could just call that store in Cali and order it from them with the price match.
I just bought mine for $2,999 without tax yet implemented from a BB. The manager couldn't price match all the way down but I compromised at the halfway point so to speak. I am happy with the purchase so far. I am upgrading from a Samsung Captain Kirk pedestal DLP HLR5087W whose HDMI main board died but was an otherwise amazing DLP HDtV over the years. This will be a huge upgrade, but I am scared about IR and Burn in which does not exist with DLP. I need to download D-Nice's burn in disc. Can someone link me to the download location. Thanks.
Well OK. I went to another Magnolia and they matched the price. I'm now going to have a showdown between a F7050 from costco and the F8500 this weekend smile.gif

I love the brightness and lack there of ABL on the F7100. Hope the F8500 can deal with the bright room we will have it in. That will be the major decision maker.

So I did, yesterday, and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU for this tip. TV will be delivered tomorrow Friday.

I liked Jason's well trimmed beard smile.gif

I got the last 64" in stock, so - at least for now - be prepared for a wait.

Glad I could help! And I'm glad he got the business. Like I said, it was so much more of a pleasant experience than I expected. So that's three -- that have reported back, at least. Awesome!
