I'll be there for the party and perhaps also for a booth tour (how do we set that up). Do we have a time and location yet for the party (I assume Friday evening).

Ron,

All the party info is in the first post.

Oh: Given the way the initial post was worded I thought the gathering at Jack's was more tentative than set. But it appears it's the later so ignore my Edgewater offer and I'll see you at Jack's on the 27th.

What's the status of the HT booth tour? Is this still and go and if yes, what days and time? Have the HT vendors been determined?

Can an old dog learn new tricks? I'm going to my first Cedia. Since I just about live on this forum I might as well go to the AVS get together and meet some people in person. Anyone who wants to meet me I'll be standing by the food.

Eric

I think they're still working out all the details on the booth tour. I'm sure Scott will update us as more details come in.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

As you get more info about the tour I would like to participate. I plan on attending my first show on Thursday 9/26.

In the thread starter, Scott said the AVS party would be Friday evening, Sept. 27, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Jazz@Jack's on the 16th Street Mall. I swear that right after that was a post from David Bott saying that he and his wife would be there hosting it. Now the post is gone (if I didn't imagine it).

Question is, do we just show up and show our CEDIA badge to get in? The venue shows that the room is booked for a private party during that time. I assume it's AVS. Is it a hosted or cash bar? Munchies? Anything else planned like there was at the wonderful CEDIA party AVS did years ago in Denver?

hi guys im also going to the show... and to the party..

Hi Guys,

For the party, all you really need is to not look like a deer in headlights when you see that it's a private AVS party. :)

We're not looking to turn anyone away or ask for credentials so your CEDIA badge is great but not required if you want to be undercover.

Unfortunately, we've had to cancel the booth tour because of scheduling conflicts; sorry about that! However, the party is still on, and we hope to see all AVS members who are attending CEDIA at the shindig!

I'll be there at the party as always--looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Thank goodness we're back in Denver. I'm one of many who strongly prefer Denver as the location of choice.

Cool about the party location. 16th Street Mall is good location and highly accessible, although I'm not familiar with this particular spot. Some good live jazz in Denver, though, so it should be good.

Just saw that the tour was canceled. That would have been cool, but it's ok.

Everybody knows that there was a lot of rain in Colorado. I thought flooding was outside of the city. Turns out that there were pockets of flooding inside the Denver metro area. How do I know? well the hotel I booked has closed for several weeks. I made my reservation through a 3rd party Internet travel site and they were clueless. Luckily I was alerted by a fellow AVS brother who booked direct and got a call from the hotel.

Here are pictures from the Embassy Suites Stapleton facebook page.

Great!!! I haven't booked my room yet. I will call in the morning before I leave and make sure everything is cool. I was probably going to stay out by the airport.

cool will be there tomorrow did you have to print out your receipt for cedia to get the badge?
The scan code was not needed at the airport, just your registration number
post #52 of 59
Yeah, and it looks like you can still get your badge at the airport from just your name and zip code you registered with too.

Good first "pre-day" of CEDIA today. Good turnout from what I can see, but it'll really show tomorrow. Manufacturers were saying that attendance is up this year, though.

I'm seeing lots of familiar faces.

See you all Friday! Go Broncos!

FYI cedia badge printer in airport is dead

Hope to see many of you on the floor and at the party tomorrow night!

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the party and also to our sponsor this year - Monoprice.

I hope everyone had a great time. It's always nice to see everyone and to put real faces to names.
had a great time as always, guys. Thanks so much to Mike, Scott, and the AVS team for putting together another successful AVS Forum party. I'd only like to see even more people there next year. (maybe it won't be raining for the first time in a couple years for the party)

Definitely did miss the Botts this year and others that have attended in the past. With CEDIA moving their after-party to Thursday this year, I was hoping there would be less conflicts for some of the big companies to have some of their familiar names come by. Maybe next year!

Great to see everyone again!
