The DVArchive Forum Is *LOCKED*!!!

Portions of a PM that I just sent to Gerry Duprey on the DVArchive Forum:

I try to log onto the DVArchive Forum daily to answer any new questions that may appear. Sadly, none have appeared in months! frown.gif Today, when I attempted to create a new thread / poll, I discovered that the forum was LOCKED...

I'd like to ask why?...

...sadly, the older I get, the less I remember redface.gif . REGARDLESS, I *LOVE* DVArchive smile.gif . *PLEASE* post / inform / E-Mail someone as to your intentions so that they may be offered the opportunity to continue / copy your site as the WiRNS Team did with the Twiki and ReplayTVUpgrade site. IIRC, 2 adamant, devoted ReplayTV supporters (Todd Larason / The ReplayTV Twiki and Gary) have died and the WiRNS Team has taken over their sites.

I realize that no one can stop progress (HDTV vs Analog). But, you have created an EXCELLENT application in DVArchive and I would like to continue using AND supporting it as long as possible, along with Poopli.

Thanks for listening and I hope to hear a reply.

Best Regards...
I may have missed the LOCKED icon previously, but I DEFINITELY noticed it today! eek.gif

IMHO, it appears that the DVArchive Forum is "going away". mad.gif

DVArchive, WiRNS, and Poopli have benefited *MANY* of us during the past decade. And, while, IMHO, the majority of us have also migrated to HDTV, ReplayTV still holds a 'Dear Spot' in our hearts.

Does anyone (i.e. ReplayLurker) have any further information? confused.gif

Thanks! smile.gif

I don't know much about DVArchive, so I don't know why you singled me out. I basically only know a lot about the workings of the ReplayTV itself, more like Todd Larson, but I woudn't consider myself any where near his league.

Folks,

Don't stop in here much anymore. Haven't had working ReplayTVs in prolly 4 years or more. That said, while I don't have any immediate intentions of taking down dvarchive.org, I have locked it to prevent spamming and such (which was becoming a real problem and maintenance). At this point, virtually anything that can be asked about DVA has been asked and answered there, so I'm leaving it up as a resource for those still running ReplayTVs/DVA/etc. I cannot make any promises how long it may be there, but I have no specific plans to take it down at any specific time.

Thanks, Gerry! I'm sure I echo the thoughts of many past and present ReplayTV and DVA users: thanks for your support, expertice, and especially, the authoring of an extremely useful utility that continues to serve us faithfully, even in today's primarily digital environment. THANK YOU!

Whenever I have a problem, I go there first to check the FAQ and then SEARCH. I'm very happy to hear / read that, although LOCKED, it will remain available for research.

Any suggestions / comments to my to-date unanswered question from Sun Jun 03, 2012 @ 22:38: .
THANKS, in advance, for any help / suggestions / guidance anyone can offer.smile.gif

Gerry -
I'll be happy to port it over to one of my servers, if possible - it should run on a php/linux vhost, right?
