At least the show didn't go Hero of the Week but it still has the problem of weak writing and the blandest of PYT casting. The show is trying so hard to be family and non-Marvel viewer accessible that the plots are simplistic and obvious. We really didn't need the flash forward tag at the beginning to know the bad guys just walked onboard the CTU bus.
Yes, this super top secret flying base is even dumber than anything 24 pretended to have as cutting-edge security. Massive glass doors in the hangar so everyone can see what top secret project they are working on and break through easily (if someone doesn't hit the brakes on loading that would be unfortunate), total strangers being allowed to wander around freely, new agents being allowed to use their own phones, no mobile scrambling tech, no reinforced cockpit doors or remote surveillance to avoid hijackings, no guards onboard the huge aircraft at all
at least CTU had the excuse of being limited to real-world tech. Is the Bus made by Stark interns?
The biggest problem I have with the show is the ABCness of it. It's just, well, just not cool
. It makes me miss Chuck back when it was packed full of jokes, charismatic actors and lots of self-referential and pop-culture snap. If the ratings drop continues I don't see it being picked up. It reminds me in more ways than one of the Knight Rider reboot.
And remember kids, watch out for dangerous levels of photon emissions when moving dangerous devices!
