This is actually pretty significant. It demonstrates that the Netflix app is capable of delivering 4K content to the X900, assuming of course that your internet bandwidth will support the throughput requirements. We have been looking for an alternative to the Media Player, and this may be it. Of course, we will probably be waiting some time before Netflix actually implements a significant amount of content. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Have to agree with you. I owned the media server but wasn't the biggest fan of it so I returned it. I am really impressed with Netflix's quality. I didn't have any buffering issues either which was nice. I cannot wait to see House of Cards in 4k if Netflix actually supports it.

Yes. It looks great.

I thought the 24fps looked shakier then the 5994 mp.
Y'all should count yourself lucky you got the media player at all! I don't know if Netflix are doing the 4K trials in the UK yet, but I don't currently subscribe to their service and to be honest, I'm not about to.
What does the mp number mean on these Netflix videos?
I think the Netflix trial is a harbinger of better things to come, Geoff. Hopefully it will include streaming 4K content for you in the UK.

I set it up here in Australia on my attached pc and the Netflix footage looks great!

We dont have the netflix app on our version of this TV

Can you verify that the way you are set up is indeed passing a 4K video stream to the Sony?  It really frustrates me that there is no "Display" functionality that shows the resolution when playing the internal TV app.  When your PC is connected (via HDMI, I suspect), does the "Display" button show the resolution?

I understand this is a tad off topic, however, I had no clue that the SCREEN for the projector was the most important thing. Thanks to Brian, who told me to get a really good screen, and a cheaper projector. By cheaper, I mean medium level.

I did not even know the screen was sold separately.

So BenQ projector? and a really good screen like the EN4K screen.

BenQ are a Chinese brand of computer monitors...this is getting really interesting.

ARE THE BULBS SOLD SEPARATELY? ANY thing else I should know?

Obviously, the home theater is not included...but I know that !!

The point I was trying to make is not to jump in so quickly, and you seem ready to dive in head first. Investigate screen materials and size (aspect ratio, gain, etc.) and how they'd interact with the BenQ. Just because an EN4K works for me, doesn't mean it'll work for you. For example, that's an acoustically transparent screen--is that what you want? Are you going to build a false wall for it? If you're not going to place the speakers behind the screen, why go with a negative gain? You need to calculate the brightness you'll get based on the projector output, desired screen size, aspect ratio, and throw distance. You also need to take room conditions into consideration... How much ambient light is there, if any? If there's ambient light you can't control, you need to investigate other screen types. Not doing this is like playing roulette if you're a first timer.

There is no one in this forum that can tell you which screen/projector combo is right for you, because no setup is the same. Don't look for the easy way out. The correct answer is one that you need to arrive at independently, based on your own calculations.

When you make the screen and projector choice, you need to have a pretty good idea of the brightness you'll be seeing. Everyone has a range they consider acceptable. I don't like to dip under 14 ft-L, personally, but people have different thresholds.

Or, Brian, he should have a professional do the assessment and make the recommendations.

Definitely, if he has the money to do it. That's something I suggested in a PM.

It will also play in 1080p. I played the film on my Oppo 103 blu-ray and it played but at 1080p. I then used the Sony TV app and it was definitely sharper and more high rez. The difference was significant.

Thanks to Bluecamp for finding this.

It looks the best.

simulated 3d can be activated. Which makes me believe its not pure 4k content.

Notice that once we are in Netflix we cannot adjust picture settings !!! Why is this?

It appears to me that if you set the Internet input settings in the Amazon app it sticks for Netflix and others.

I can change settings whilst streaming Amazon prime movies, but not netflix

Called Sony about not being able to change settings whilst in a netflix movie.

They want me to do a factory reset...forget that!! Not doing another one today.

It seems every problem should be solved by performing a factory reset

Please take this comment as constructive, not critical.  When you encounter a problem, rather than immediately jumping on this forum and reporting it as an issue, why don't you stand back and spend a little time researching the problem to see if you can solve it yourself?  Twice in the last several hours you have reported what you thought were problems, but which you solved yourself almost immediately.  The first was when you were playing the El Norte video from a Netflix app external to the TV, and reported disappointment that it was only 1080.  Now the failure to launch the internal Netflix app.  You would gain more respect here if you solved a problem yourself and reported the solution here in the thread, rather than continually "crying wolf".

Again, I am not trying to be disrespectful, only offering a suggestion.

Understood...will research.

Actually, the problem was solved by Sony, who told me to refresh the Internet content on tv.

However, I still cannot adjust tv with netflix on and streaming. Please check if you guys can, otherwise i'm wasting my time researching a something that cannot be fixed.

We cannot access Netflix video settings. However there is a single input 'Internet (video)' for YouTube and Amazon and it would make sense the settings you set under that input are what Netflix is using.
