I'm not sure how far your processor is from the tv, but you may need longer than the 1.5 feet that cable provides unless you have a DB9 cable that will connect to it already in place. Also, keep in mind the tv requires a null modem cable, the one in the link does not specify if it is null or not but a null modem adapter is cheap and not a bad idea to order at the same time just in case.
Hmm, I'm using that cable with and without a null modem adapter and can't seem to get the control to work. I'm using the iRule iPad app with a GlobalCache RS232 WiFi to serial device which I've used with many other devices. Are the serial settings the same as most: 9600, 8bit, no flow control, 1 stop bit, no parity?
Also, if I hook up the TV to a laptop running putty via the serial cable + null modem, I can't send anything to the TV, but when I hit enter, the TV returns "PT" to the console. Any ideas?Edited by sean.scott - Yesterday at 11:25 am
