I'm searching for a used pre/pro of 2008-2010 model year vintage at a bargain price (yeah, i'm poor...on disability). While the offerings in the model from Onkyo/Integra for those years are going at some fair pricing, i have noted that in particular that Marantz AV8003's have asking prices for considerably more than a new AV7005...eek.gif
Are these things gold plated or something:confused:confused.gif....sorry for the rant...............

Then buy the AV 7005. I have heard both and they are about even for music. The 7005 sounded better for home theater IMHO. If you are set on an AV 8003 then check out the Audiogon site. I believe there are two nice 8003's on Audiogon right now for around $850. I believe a new 7005 would be at leas $300 more than a used 8003.

Did not see the 8003's on audiogon, but there were some on ebay and amazon @$1500.00 to 2200.00! At this point at the prices being asked on the Onkyo PR-SC885's and 886's and Integra DTC-9.8 and DHC-9.9's are decent..That is the way i'll probably go when i can get the cash together ..Only reason for considering the Marantz pre/pro's is that my amps are Marantz.. On A4l, a refurb AV7005 can be had for < 9 c notes...would think that a used AV8003 would be somewhat less, but that's not the case........

$1500-$2000 is way to much for a used AV 8003. I wouldn't pay that much for a brand new sealed one. A4L and the AV 7005 is the way to go !

It's too bad that the Outlaw 975 does not seem to have room correction capabilities (something like audessy)..It's in my budget, but i do definitly need the room correction. Emotiva is out because of no component inputs, and issues that their previous pre/pro had made me gun shy...

My budget is going to be dirt cheap- $400.00 or less; So i'll probably search for a used Onk PR-SC886 or Interga DHC-9.9 or some reliable 2008-2010 vintage AVR that has at least 4 HDMI 1.3, 2 component in and 7.1 chan pre outs. Room correction is a must and network connectivity would be nice, but not necessary. biggrin.gif

My budget now will be only $250.00 tops..too many other expenses coming up around the house..... Looking for a used receiver--probably of the 2009-2010 model year (or pre/pro) that has had no HDMI issues (or very little therof..), has at least 4 HDMI 1.3 and 2 sets of component inputs...and of course pre outs to drive my Marantz MM9000 and SM61sa amps (...and of course, it would be wonderfull to have it also be a Marantz ........)
What units on the used market would y'all look for if you were in the same situation?? confused.gif
