Ceiling Projector lift recommendation - Chief, Vutec, Draper?

There hasn't been many posts about Ceiling projector lifts recently. Wondering if anyone has done one, and what I should be looking for. They all seem to be close to $2,500 frown.gif but due to WAF factor, I don't have much options.

Right now it looks like there's the

chief http://www.chiefmfg.com/Projector-Mounts/Automated - drop max 36" max projector size 20.5" x width 22.8" depth

Vutec - http://www.vutec.com/projector_scissor_lift.html - drop max 42" projector size limit 18" x 18" -

Draper - http://www.draperinc.com/LiftsMounts/LiftProducts.asp?detail=229 - drop 48" projector 18" x 18"
Draper - Aerolift - http://www.draperinc.com/LiftsMounts/LiftProducts.asp?detail=573 drop 32" width 20" x 25" depth

My current projector is the Epson 5010, but I want to make sure I'm future proofing it a bit, so was hoping a slightly larger platform.

Epson dimension is 17.6" W x 15.6" depth.

Possible future projector smile.gif
newer Epson 5020 18.4" width x 15.6" depth
Sony VPL-HW50ES 16" width 18.3" width

and in a few years maybe a 4K projector, but the Sony VPL-VW1000 right now is HUGE - 20.5width 25.2 depth! doubt I'd pay $25k for a projector but one's gotta dream right?

I would think in 2yrs Epson comes out w/ 4K, but wonder if it'll be this big.

would love to know if anyone has any of the above lifts?

I have experience in the Vogel's and Future Automation's projector lift. The Vogel's lift was installed with an Optoma HD72 before. Have just replaced with a Sony HW50 which is just fit. It will not fit any projector bigger than that. By comparison, the FA is much bigger and much heavy duty. Should be able to accomdate fuuture upgarde to larger size projectors. Also, it run more quiet than the Vogel's. The Vogel's have been used for more than 5 years. The FA has been used for 1 year without any problem. The FA's look similiar to the Chief.

In general, the scissor type tend to shake a bit when come down. It will stay still once settle. However, not recommended for installing them close the A/C vent outlet.

Just my 2 cents to share.
