Panasonic ZT60 Deals... - Page 15

Is Paul's TV still offering a deal on the ZT60?
Hi,

After a lot of research, including using this forum I called John Kim (949-596-8324 his direct line ) with Paul's TV. I left him a message on 10/30 and he called me back later that evening. I told him what I was in the market for and he said he would call me back to let me know what he could do for me.

I was interested in:

TCP65ZT60 65"
TCP50ST60 50"
Denon AVR-X2000

I ended up ordering the following on 10/31:

65" ZT for $2999.99 delivered
5 year warranty for the ZT for $299.99 and if I don't use it, I get $150 credit at Paul's TV.
Denon X2000 for $519.99

John was great to deal with.

The price he gave me on the 50" ST was $929.99 delivered. The price is good for a week. I know it's a bit of a cross post, but any thoughts on how good a price this is?

I am scheduled for delivery next week and I will post how everything went.

Just bought the p60zt60 from Amazon for $2999.99 and was then credited with $600 discount as an Instant Price match to the discount offered by Paulstv.com (promo code Panasonic7). The promo code was time limited and I needed to chat directly with Amazon customer support to have the discount approved. There is a process involved for the approval, it was not "instant," and paul's promo code was time limited. The people I talked to at Amazon were all very courteous and professional.

So, I effectively got the 60zt60 at $2400, with 24 month interest free financing, enhanced free shipping, 2% reward, and the unbeatable Amazon return policy and tech support. Scheduled delivery is for 11/7.

I all most always get all my "stuff" from Amazon, and will continue to do so, now more than ever.

Just wanted to share my story.

Hi Guys and gals!

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered P65ZT60 from Paul's TV for $2999. For last few days, I could not decide between ZT and VT. This deal made it easier.

It was my first time ordering from Paul's, but my experience was great.

I am upgrading from my 34 inch Sony XBR 960 CRT, so I am expecting to be blown away by this set.

Now, I just need to get a warranty. Is Costoco $99 warranty the best deal currently?
@SwiftSweeper do you know if that Costco warranty is available even to non-members who don't pay for a costco membership? Otherwise gonna have to look elsewhere for some warranty for the 55VT60 I just ordered.

Congrats on VT. I remember reading in VT Deals thread that the non-members pay 10% extra. I do not have the membership either.

I'm interested in knowing a bit more about the 24 month interest free financing. Is this a new deal that Amazon is giving to people who want to get the ZT60 or is something that they always do? Knowing that Panasonic may stop making plasma TV's next year, I am seriously considering purchasing the ZT60 or ZT65 now and the financing part may push me over the edge! Thanks.

I just picked up the SQ warranty via Costco for a recently purchased ZT. There was a $5 non-member surcharge on the $99 plan. Also, if the TV is not bought at Costco, it's 1 yr less (4 years total instead of 5).

The 24 months 0% financing is the way that I'm currently leaning on a P65ST60 from Amazon. Just love the idea of stretching out the payments over 24 months instead of dropping $2k hard cash. But the other idea that I'm considering is putting the Amazon purchase on my Amex card because that gives you an extra year of warranty protection at the back end of whatever extended warranty you decide to go with.

So the first year is covered my the Panasonic Manufacturers warranty, years 2, 3, & 4 will be covered by the Square Trade warranty that I'm going to buy at Costco for $99.00 and the 5th year is covered by American Express.

So it's go with 24 months interest free financing and a total of 4 years of warranty or make the purchase using my Amex card and get the 5th year of coverage. Lot's of decisions to make.

The Amex warranty starts when the original manufacturer's warranty expires, meaning it will start after one year. You'd have double coverage for the second year (Square Trade and Amex), but you wouldn't get 5 years total.

Bestbuy is still price matching the Paul's TV price on the 65ZT60 at $2999, just placed my order today. Absolutely zero hassle on the price match, and it's not even showing on the Paul's TV site anymore, props to Bestbuy

To me, having the local brick and mortar in case of any issue was worth the cost of the tax

Yes it's ongoing. You have to set up an Amazon store card online and use that at check out . The 24 month interest free is a really nice perk along with the hassle free return policy. Hard to best Amazon IMO.

My 65ZT60 was delivered tonight. What a great picture. I ordered Thursday from Pauls and they delivered one Saturday but it wouldn't turn on and the screen had a big crack so they took it back and rescheduled for today. Very happy with this TV. I think it may look better than my 9G Kuro. Definitely beats the Samsung 64E7000 I had. Debating buying another now.

I pulled the trigger on a 65ZT60 today via Paul's. I live in CA and did not realize Paul's had a presence here (only in SoCal apparently and I live in NorCal) so the inclusion of tax came as a bit of a surprise though I purchased it nonetheless. While the transaction was being processed, I asked the salesman about the build date (concern about fan buzz) and was told it was a fresh batch (within a month) and that it was the last batch they were getting in. The inference was that Paul's had as many ZT60's as they were going to get for this series. Those wishing to buy a ZT60 from Paul's may wish to confirm what their supply is going to be like moving forward...

I hope I'll be getting one of the latest batches. I had ordered a 65ZT60 from Paul's TV about 3 weeks ago. The TV arrived on Nov 1, but the panel under the screen was cracked. The build date was July 2013. They shipped out a replacement this week. Should arrive in Atlanta next week. Hoping this will be August 2013 or later.

No, the crack was not very visible. The delivery guy helped to unbox and put the TV on the stand. No visible damage that we could see. We tried to turn the TV on, but nothing happened except for seeing a red blinking light for the power indicator. After a few tries of turning on and off, we called Panasonic. She tried a few things and then asked us to count the number of blinks...we counted 7. She immediately told us the TV set needed repair.

Of course I refused the delivery at this point, so we carried the unboxed TV out to van and in the sunlight, we both noticed several cracks under the screen. I guess it's in the panel. We didn't see the cracks in lower level of light within my house.

My 65ZT60 was delivered last week from Paul's and it has a June 2013 build date. Of course I have the fan noise. I called Panasonic and they sent someone out yesterday for the fan fix. It didn't completely go away, but it is better. It's not anything that I can't live with.

Thanks for the information. I really don't need another store card but I might have to bite the bullet if that that is the only way to get the 24 month financing from Amazon.

Does anyone know if Paul's offers any kind of interest free financing deals?

These stores aren't financial institutions, so they can't implement these promotions without the backing of one.

Regarding the price match at BBY (or Paul's price) on the 65":

1) Does BBY have a 0% financing going? How many months?

2) Do we have any idea of how many of the 65" are still around? Is manufacture shut down?

3) Total speculation here, but some of you may have a feeling: how much do you think my ChadB calibrated 60" VT60 would be worth?
3) probably 2/3 of what it is selling for now.
1) Probably, I procured a 24-month 0% offer in June.
2) The Panasonic insider at the other forum said manufacturing will continue through this month and *maybe* December.

Was this on bb.com or at your local store? My local bb wasn't interested in matching the $3k price that Pauls tv had it for (after the deal expired).

2/3 of what Best Buy is selling them for? That wouldn't be much of a loss if you bought on a recent promo. Of course I tried to sell mine on Craigslist (thinking about upgrading to a 60ZT60 and got zero interest selling at a good $600 off BB's price, not counting sales tax which would make the price gap even larger.

What is the "other forum" that the Panasonic insider posts to?

This was at my local store, over the phone even. When I say zero hassle I mean he put me on hold for 15 seconds, and came back on saying I'm good.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll have to check in with Amazon if I want the 24 month interest free deal.
