They are getting price quotes from Paul's TV and having Best Buy price-match.

Although, some are having better luck than others. My Best Buy's manager refused to price-match, so I had no choice but to go with Paul's. While the delivery was a bit nerve-wracking, so far there have been no ill-effects.

Same with me. It was really annoying. I had them take it completely out of the box and turn it on so I could see if the bottom was messed up since the first one they tried to deliver was broken. They held it upright so it wouldn't tump over. The guys that delivered the first one said they weren't allowed to take it up or down stairs either until I read them the terms of the "white glove" delivery. Amazon will set it up on the stand for you. Needless to say, I didn't tip them. What's funny is I ordered a 64" Sammy a few months ago from them and the delivery guys were fantastic. They took it out and installed the stand and put it up on the entertainment center. I gave them a great tip.

If they're just doing what you bought I don't see why you'd be pissed about it. It's not like there's a standard definition of what white glove is.

I checked Paul's TV. $3k even for both the 60 and 65 inch unit. I'm finding them for 2200 and 2800 online though without the free white glove and that Paul's is offering. I think I'll hang on to see what Black Friday brings. Typically though, the only things that go on sale are cheap POS for the masses.

Paul's price was the lowest I could get it for. My local Best Buy refused to match it. I did however get it for the price many here are listing. In the end, if you get the TV you want for a price that you are willing to pay, you win.

Pauls told me 2300 for the 60 inch zt and all deals expire the 14th

You guys are doing it wrong with BB on the ZT60 65".  If you must go to BB, then go in with the Paul's coupon applied on the site and the East Coast TV site on your ipad or phone.  they are both 2899 with no shipping.  talk to the BB manager yourself if need be.  get your rewards zone points, 24 months free financing and local store location.  they also will come down on the warranty as well if you talk them into it.

if you are in SoCal, get it from Paul's.  If in the NYC tri-state area, get it from East Coast TV.

this is not that difficult.  Keep in mind they need to sell TVs, you don't need to buy one.

that is all.

Just a silly question! Do I need to delete the * signs in the URL listed above for the coupon for Paul's TV to get the coupon information? I cannot seem to get anywhere when I simply click on the URL shown above. Also, is there a coupon code for East Coast TV?

I have been given the green light to get the ZT65, so now I am keen to get the pricing information so that I can contact Amazon and BB and see what they can do for me.

Thanks.

Been living with the ZT 65" set for about a month now. Love the imaging and the anti reflective coating does just fine. Never the less, the theater room is pretty dark to begin with. My only complaint, and I am not even sure whether it is anything of significance is that the fans do come on periodically and only for a couple of seconds at a time. Not sure why, but this seems to happen more when I pause the picture or bring up the cable box's menu.

Can't say that I have read every post or page on this thread but I did see where someone mentioned a 'fix' from Panasonic. Is this something I should call Best Buy about since that is where I bought it? Or is there a Panasonic contact url or # I should be aware of?
Thanks all
Steve

Unrelated question, but I would very much appreciate your opinion. I bought the 60ZT60 from Amazon for $2400. I needed to refuse delivery TWICE now because the panels had long, very thin cracks that were only visible by holding a flashlight close to glass. Tip for new buyers - inspect the panel with a flashlight!

My question: In your experience, or anyone else who cares to respond, how common is this? Are the ZT panels particularly fragile that delivery is high risk?

Because of my issues, Amazon has temporarily suspended sales of the ZT, at least from NY area, until they investigate the distribution facility here on the east coast.

Any thoughts? Is there anything else I can ask for in terms of shipping?

Thank you in advance for responding.

Desperately awaiting delivery of the ZT.....

Interesting...this is the first I've heard of the fans only coming on in a periodic fashion. Since you said you noticed them when "pausing the picture," this could be related to you not noticing them when content is playing, so they may very well be constantly spinning but at an imperceptible volume. My May-manufactured set's fans fire up immediately after power up and don't stop until the TV is powered down. Panasonic support will be the ones who issue the "fix," and this may or may not be efficacious in reducing the volume of the air noise/fans (there are conflicting reports).
Thanks for the quick reply. Is a fix even needed? Have you heard anything from Panasonic that one is in the works?
Steve
There is a fix, yes, that they are employing and for which they will dispatch a local tech to your house to implement the fix after asking you a barrage of questions. It involves foam placement behind the fans to dampen the noise. Whether it's needed, I would say only if the sound bothers you. It's definitely not a recall type situation. I am sometimes bothered by it (during quiet passages), but I am not convinced the fix will definitively solve the problem based on the mixed reports I've seen from users here in the forum.

Also to help anyone out with amazon price matching pauls tv. Price of 2899.99 Amazon included this soundbar with the deal for free which I really needed for my family room This item: Panasonic SCHTB370 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer $227.99 to help sweeting the deals. You'll also receive 2% cash back in rewards which is about an additional 60bucks. Deals are starting to heat up!
You must be referring to the 60" model as I doubt that the 65" would go that low…not for the foreseeable future at any rate.

I don't know about the sound bar and all that business from Amazon, but the $2899 price on the ZT60 @ 65" is legit with Paul's, East Coast TVs and price match at Best Buy.

and with that I see the 60" is under review from Amazon, meaning it cannot currently be purchased.  I bet this is because of your issue, no?

Yes. They will be contacting me on Thursday with an update.

Got my 65 inch today guys!

Alright, so just for quick impressions here, my goodness is it huge for my room!

I have NEVER seen a TV look this good.
Now I haven't owned too many TV's,
an old 720p Pioneer Elite, a Panasonic T65s2, and a Vizio Razr M 50".
I have seen 1080p Pioneer Kuro's, and it was always a dream to own one as I was growing up, and now I feel as if I do.
Needless to say, I will be watching all my favorite movies again!
When I watched Wall-E, I felt like I was at the movie theater it was so clear.
I wouldn't describe the colors as bright or vivid, rather deep and rich.

Nice!  Any screen cracks like the 60" peeps were reporting?

I will have mine tomorrow!

^^ Nope, no screen cracks here! I took my iPhone's LED(which is pretty bright) and shined it every where close up on the screen, since people said it was hard to see, and it's completely crack free!

I can say that my Oct build has the foam, and I have zero fan noise.
Zack…did you contact Panasonic to have this done or the place where you purchased it? Once the foam was received did you or they do the install?
Steve
Happy to report that Amazon matched the Paul's TV price of $2399 for the 60 inch ZT. As outlined a few posts above, I had to go through customer service to get the match approved. Just FYI, If you go to smile.amazon.com (it takes you to the same amazon site) they will donate a small amount of each purchase to the charity of your choice. My set arrived on time, with no cracks.

It already had the correction done to it prior to my purchase. The bulid date was Oct 2013, so it came out of panasonic this way
post #535 of 1929
October 2013 build date, ZT60 @65" delivered today with a $2899 price.

No scratches, no fan noise, no discernible IR. Skipped the break in.

Picture is simply incredible with CNET calibration settings.

Buy one if you can.

That is all.

Congrats I can't wait until mine is delivered! I'm thinking I might skip the break in period too. Haven't ran across any real data that's supports this theory.
What really surprised me once my ZT 65" was installed along with 2 additional Aerial Acoustics speakers making for a 7.1 system was how close to perfect the ZT was straight out of the box. Using the Spears & Munsil DVD it was almost spot on. I am getting close to reaching the 200 hour mark and now question whether I really would benefit from having it professionally calibrated at all. Any thoughts?

Just left Best Buy. I bought the 65ZT60 for $2699.99 plus tax. The manager agreed to go $200 below Paul's price to offset sales tax. Can't wait until they deliver!
wow...that's a great deal! I bought it for $3000 just over a week ago at bestbuy.

Wow is right! I was at BB a little while ago and the Manager was willing to price match Pauls TV with no questions asked. I did not even have to show him the webpage from Pauls TV. When I left the store, I was feeling greedy and wondered if he would have gone lower yet! Now I know that at least one manager did go lower. Anyway, I told him that I would be back tomorrow when I had more time to complete the deal.

I forgot to ask him if he would match the warranty price from Pauls TV but I'll ask him tomorrow.
