Panasonic ZT60 Deals... - Page 25

Anybody check the Best Buy prices on these recently? wink.gif
post #722 of 1930
Amazon has dropped the 65zt60 to $2799.98
post #723 of 1930
Just picked up a 65zt60 at bestbuy for 2799 at best buy. Was all prepared to price match with ectv or pauls, but the guy said it was a one day sale. Not sure if that is true, just what was said. Thing is damn heavy.

This new lowest price popped up on Amazon about 12 minutes ago.

EDIT: Compare previous prices for the TC-P65ZT60 on Amazon @ http://camelcamelcamel.com/Panasonic-TC-P65ZT60-65-Inch-1080p-Plasma/product/B00BC4SNMK

The price change is so recent that it hasn't appeared on the camelcamelcamel website yet.

They were just matching BBY. They still aren't matching on the 60 though.

How long is BB running the current price on the 60?

I can tell you it is not permanent.

Heh, I just saw this when I was in there earlier. 2199 for the 60 is less than I had paid with a 200.00 discount for the ZT I had about a week ago. Hell, they had priced my open box ZT at 2196.

Go in and ask for a discount. Just tell them you want to return your OB for a new one if it's the same price.

Damn...I was just in there last night mulling over a 55VT for the living room, as a backup for my 60ZT in the cave "just because". Supposedly only (23) 60ZTs left in my local BBuy's "region". Thought I was doing something when I got a price match for $2,499 on Black Friday, down from $2,699 for what I originally paid. Salesman didn't tell me about this most recent price drop last night...however he said he'd been mulling over getting rid of his VT60 for a ZT60. rolleyes.gif

Supply is getting tight, though warehouses will receive additional shipments still so don't pay too much attention to that number.

Yeah, I may have to just accidentally turn on my 700U, and then spill some coffee on it in the next few days.

eek.gif Not sure what that accomplishes.

My region is plum out of 50S60s. It's those and the STs that are the most constrained. The ZT and VT seem to be hanging around a little longer since the "entry" models are so good as it is. But that still doesn't mean wait. We're talking about a slightly deeper inventory at most.

I project that 30 days from now, the VTs will probably be all but gone and ZTs will be scarce, yet if you're if a BB Elite member I think you have 30 days to return/price match and 14 days for everyone else. So I'd buy at the 2199/2799 price whenever it comes around and then just get matched if it goes down again after that.

After that it's gonna be pretty much who can get the most off on open box units. It wouldn't surprise me to see some straggler ZTs (returns) end up around 1500 bucks by mid 2014. But that's completely speculative and sheer luck if you find one that wasn't abused or burned in.

I'm happy with my Sharp Elite and the brother's F8500 at this point, glad I got out of the pricing rat race and no more burn in concerns for me with just good enough IQ. Plus it matches my other Elite gear. That said, nothing in the forseeable future will touch the ZT. If I *hadn't* auditioned it, I'd think the Elite was the best thing since sliced bread.

This is probably a pretty accurate guess. Also keep in mind, you won't see the clearance prices most of you are waiting for until some of the markets are already out of inventory. Patience is NOT a virtue here.

ST60 has been tight since it launched. They never made enough of those to begin with. Extreme oversight by Pana, if you ask me. Wouldn't be the first.

Amazon has 198 of these ZT60 in stock @ 2800. eek.gif I might wait a bit till they go down to get a newer build set or just wait for CES to see what Samsung will do with the next model update.
How new of a build do you need? I've seen October frequently quoted as a build date for Amazon buyers.
Was thinking of a December build if I was going to buy because I always want the latest and greatest plus the sound fix applied.
Fan fix was first employed in August, and there's also the risk of them not being the greatest since December was slated to be the month they ceased production and began to shutter the plants and fire the help.
How do you know that Amazon has 198 of the 65 inchers in stock?

Anything on Amazon if stock is below 1000, you can check their stock on hand. Add the ZT60 to your cart then update quantity to 999 it will correct to the amount they actually have in stock. Right now they have 193, Amazon has sold 5 ZT60s since I posted. wink.gif
post #746 of 1930
Thank you. Good to know.

I went into bestbuy tonight looking for a game for my nephew and walked out the door with a 60ZT60 for $1999.99. I was dumbfounded, as I only was looking to find out how long their price would be @ $2200. The sales guy asked me if I would wait to see if he could sweeten the price a little bit. I thought he might come back and say $50 or something since $2200 is already pretty low. He said they have had a slow sales day so this would be a one time offer to get some sales out the door today. I applied for 24 months no interest and added the 5 year geek squad because the only reason I haven't bought one of these yet was because of stories about IR and fan noise on the forums. I'm still not sure if I will keep it yet or not, but I wanted to lock this price in just in case. Delivery is scheduled for Jan 10 so I have some time to think about it.

They told me their "cost" (which speakerphile has said is actually a moving variable from week to week for whatever that's worth) was 1950 a couple of weeks ago when I asked if they could do 1800 on a 60ZT60 open box and thus couldn't do that price. So 1999 is a fantastic deal. There's really no point to buying a VT once you reach that point on the ZT.
And the ZT does afford a better on/off contrast ratio, likely thanks to that nifty filter and single sheet of glass design....Sonyboy has/had a Kuro, so this is more desirable.
