Pioneer kuro pdp5080 plasma problem

I have a pioneer kuro pdp5080 plasma and I'm using the input 1 and when I'm watching tv the input 1 menu in the top right corner will show up for like 4 seconds and then go away! I tried to reset the tv by plugging it out but that doesn't work! Any ideas or help please? Thanks

It is normal for the input indicator to appear when the source is first selected, and it should disappear after some time. Almost every TV I has worked one does this. I don't understand the fault? Does it appear randomly during use?

It shows up randomly when I'm watching tv!

Ah. Now, if you were to press a button on the TV itself, what button would do the same function -- or is there not one? For example, if INPUT makes that show up, then I would suspect the INPUT button has become intermittent. In addition, try isolating the remote control by removing the batteries while watching normal TV.

When I push input 1 on the remote it shows up! If I take the batteries out it still shows up, I even changed the s video cable so I don't know what it would be !

Can you make sure INPUT on the TV does not do the same?
Check the S-Video cable is seated fully on both ends, perhaps it is intermittent and causing the issue.
Try other sources too.

I only have 1 s video input in my tv and my satellite receiver only has the red white and yellow and a video, And it will show up and then be gone for like 5 minutes and then show up again!

Any chance you could try other inputs -- just so they can be ruled out? Does it have DVI/HDMI for example?

I changed it to red white and yellow and now it's good so what would make it only do that on the s video then?

I am thinking that perhaps some setting is wrong for that input? Have you tried a factory reset -- beware if calibrated etc.
