2x 300W Speakers vs Amplifier

Hi guys i dont know too much about speakers, amps, etc. Just the basic knowledge.

Got these speakers for free, are perfect working, and pretty much never used.
I would like to simply hook up my laptop and play these for paries etc. No real need for Mixers, DJ equipment etc, but whatever.

So i know i need 8 ohm atleast 300 wpc amp.

SO heres my questions

What type of amplifier do i need?

Do i need a pre-amp and amp?

Whats the min watts i should use?

Anything else a nooby should know

Thx alot in advance.

That is the max rating, not minimum. But you can certainly go above 300wpc amp, just don't run at max volume. Might recommend a nice Crown digital amp for what you intend. Can be very powerful yet light for transport.

A preamp is to give you multiple sources and a volume control. With your intent, you shouldn't need one. Might want one for a better volume control, or maybe a DAC instead.
