How do I watch downloaded 3d mkv file to my 3d support projector?

Thread Starter
I have BenQ W1070 which has 3d capablity. I have a pc. I haven't any bluray 3d player or I don't want to buy any 3d bluray disc or bluray player because they are costly. I download video from torrent. All are 3d and .mkv file. I tested that format to 3d tv and they were running fantastic like movie theater. Now how do I watch that format through my projector?

The most popular pirate format 1080p half SBS is not supported by the Benq W1070.

Only formats specified in HDMI 1.4 are supported.

In 1 hour and 15 minutes, you've gone from planning on using a 3d BD player, but now don't plan to get one because they're too costly. Got it.

Most media players won't support sbs half 1080p, but the Oppo 103 does. I ripped my 3d blu rays in sbs half because when I had the jvc rs40, they had some trouble playing tb files. I tried those files on my w1070 and they only worked in 1080p on my Oppo 103. It converts it to frame packing to play in 1080p. I doubt the OP is interested in a $500 blu ray player since the ones now at under $100 is too much

SBS stands for side-by-side and the 'half" refers to the resolution. What you get with an encode like this is a single 1080p frame split in half and each half given to the left eye and the other to the right eye. If supported, the display takes each half and uses it to send you the appropriate eye to see for 3D.
