I just picked up one of these sets from WalMart (PN51F4500) yesterday, and like what I see so far. I have it hooked to my HTPC (Intel Ivy Bridge graphics, HDMI, 1024x768 @ 60 Hz). One weird thing I noticed was in certain colors, not all, but darker (not black) colors, the pixels... dance? squiggle? wiggle? sparkle? I don't know. Is this a defect? (Doesn't looks like it) The pixels actually MOVE, so it's not purely a dithering effect. It's almost like Gnats buzzing around your head. Pixel noise. Is it a part of the panel design? (my old Dell LCD would do this because it was a 6-bit panel trying to display 8-bit per pixel colors). Would the 1080p panel have these problems? (PN51F5300, specifically)
Here's an example on text:
And on a dark background color:
Other than that, it's a nice panel. I bit close to the SDE threshold, but usable. Heck, for the $ its a great deal. I'm replacing my old Vizio VP322 (32" Plasma), which started to get IR after just a few seconds of static display.
