The Magnolia manager might be a good place to start since BB doesn't have the ZT in the BB video department. What you are looking for is a price match.

One caveat: I became a Silver member AFTER I bought the TV. On the TV receipt there is no indication you are a Silver member, so be prepared to prove that you are. I also brought a RZ coupon to prove I was indeed Silver.
I am silver RZ zone member since 2009.
Thanks for your advice!

To the fan boys: not sure it would help you much, but here are the readings:
Room temperature set at 72F.
Fan 1 (facing the TV, LH): 102.7F , +/- 1F
Fan 2 (facing the TV, RH): 116F, +/- 1F
Fan 3 (center of the TV): 93F, +/-1F

Room temperature was set at 72F. Probe used is a Fluke 179 (serious s#$%*t) and has been confirmed for three times).
I have absolutely no fan problems; hoping to help the fan problem guys.

I am having a Cutler Hammer CHSPT2ULTRA installed on my electrical panel but I also want to get a good surge protector for my new Panny, Dish Hopper, a/v receiver and BRP. I am looking at the following:

Brickwall Eight outlet audio surge protector
Tripp Lite ISOBAR8ULTRA
SurgeX SX6

Anyone better/worse than the others? Any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi, definitely a good idea getting surge protection. I myself could never bring myself to plug any tv directly into a wall. But also does the SurgeX have any noise filtering/isolation ?...

Always a good idea with any plasmas
I think the "official" price match is 15 days. But you have 60 days to return the set. Tell them you are going to return the set unless they price match. They should do it as long as the price match is their current price or from a legit business.

Thanks for info on SurgeX. I currently due have my ZT60 plugged into a Monster SP but I want something better so I think I will go with the Brickwall.

Have you thought about surge protection with battery backup? Anytime you have a device with a hard drive like your hopper, it's always a good idea not to have an interruption in power.

I have everything connected to an APC Pro 1500; it protects everything and gives you several minutes of backup power, so you can still have all the stuff up and running.

Just got the price match!
They are refunding me $614.25 to my credit card. The Magnolia manager was a very nice guy about the whole thing.
Thrilled I am getting the refund! Happy happy!

While I like the idea of keeping my Hopper running during power outages, it doesn't appear to have the same level of surge protection and noise filtering/isolation that a Brickwall would have. Am I mistaken?

Just got my 65ZT. My build number is A00110. Pretty low number. Mfg date April 2013. First thing I did was turn off the banner ads, second was to make screen go to full screen on start-up. Put it in THX cinema like the picture, Now to get some time on panel. Also there is some fan noise, but the sound doesn't carry to my seating area. ( I think, had it 30 minutes) You can definitely hear it behind the tv! Pretty happy so far

Congrats! I can't wait to get mine. I just bought Martin Logan speakers and the works and I told my Magnolia sales guy that I would be looking to get that model to let me know when it would be on sale. He called me last Saturday the day before the price went back up. He said all I have to do is just put down 10% of the cost on CC over the phone and it would lock me in at the 3,100.00 sale price. It hasn't come back into stock yet which is fine I can't pick it up for another couple of weeks but I don't even want to watch anything on my current tv haha

Interesting you and others are getting such low model #s.

Just pulled the trigger on the ZT 65. I have to wait a month for delivery since I'm moving to DC and need to find an apartment but I got the Magnolia manager to break the 3K barrier...so I couldn't refuse. Got this puppy for 2799! They will hold it until september. I'm celebrating tonight in anticipation. Can't wait to start a ton of movie marathons...after breaking it in if course! BB must be in a hurry to sell more of these suckers before they go to other electronic stores in August.
Oh I should say that I went to 2 BB magnolias in the manhattan area and everyone seems to be offering the ZT 65 at 3199 now...it doesn't seem like such a time sensitive "special" sale.
Is the price back down to 3,199 for the 65zt60 It went down to 3,199 couple of weeks ago then went back up to 3,499. Is it back down again to 3,199?

I got it price matched at 3,499. If it went down again I guess I have to go back.

Can't say for sure; Brickwall is a pretty good product. What I like about the battery backup is that it gives me some time to properly turn the whole thing off. The Pro 1500 gives me between 12 and 20 minutes on the ZT. This is the link if you'd like to compare it with Brickwall.

Protection should come first with flat panels. Proper shut down is more important with lamp based projection to give the lamp time to cool off.

The most dangerous time during a power failure is when the power comes back on. If practical, it's a good idea to unplug sensitive devices before the power returns. That's also true with lightning in the immediate area.

It was officially 3199.00 at the two I went to...that's good enough for a price correction. I can take a pic and email it if you want a copy to show another BB manager. Sounds like you can save another 300.

alright guys,
My 65 incher arrived yesterday. Here is a little update:

When BB delivered the TV, the box was re-taped. When I asked why, they said the set is new, they only open the box before delivery to make sure screen is not damaged. Everything inside was in brand-new condition.
No fan noise, but if I stick my head in the back of TV I hear this pulsing thing, Zzzzzz. I don't hear it if I am standing in front of TV.
Manufacture date: June 2013 - looks like this set is freshly built!
I am running HBO around the clock to break-in the set, using Cnet settings.

So far looks great. After my break-in, I will watch some Blu-ray and local TV channels. I hope IR is not going to be an issue for me, as it is my "only" concern.

I recently exchanged an Elite and a Sony HX950 in favor of this set. So once I settle in with his baby, I will put up a personal comparison of these amazing sets for all ya who are curious.

Congrats on the new TV. I just got my 65zt60 last Saturday. It was out with the old (46S1) and in with the new. I have since reached the 100 hour mark and all is good, as far as banding, IR or fan noise it's a non issue.

Glad it was on sale last week as it allowed me to get it sooner then planned. Love the more vibrant colors and deeper blacks. smile.gif The movie I just watched had black bars top and bottom and they just blended right in. On old TV you could see they were more of a dark grey.

Hello Everyone,
How do I check the hours I have on the ZT?
TYA.
Press and hold down the Vol- button on the TV.
Then press info button on the remote control 3 times.
Start adj. menu message will be displayed followed by Service menu in a few seconds.

Press the # 2 button once to select SRV-TOOL. Then press ok to access it.

Using the cursor keys Highlight the last box on bottom right side, then press and hold Mute for 3 seconds. Hours will be displayed in red and also how many times the set has been turned on.

Hold power button down on TV to exit. (This will shut off TV and restart it.)

Be careful and don't mess around in there as you can brick your TV.

Thanks to you, I now know I have 98 hours on my TV. Much appreciated.

Which stores did you see this at? The price is not $3,199. They may have had old tags out, which they should honor at those stores but the price in POS is higher than that. Sorry to give the bad news, but didn't want everyone to get the wrong info.
