I guess i'm a lucky one also, I watch espn, football on all the channels and they all have logos. I even watch cnbc the stock market channel, they have the worst scrolls and logos, and I have yet to see ANY IR. I can only hear my fan when sound is muted. My build number A00110. My ZT 65 has been nothing but F***ing incredible

Oh dear. That requires removing the back panel, doesn't it? Or perhaps one can fidget dangerously with such things in the service menu, but rest assured I'm going to be thinking about this as similar issues with the 2013 line continue to unfold.

I just received the email about BB "reinventing" the reward zone, and while they state nothing about our membership changes, you should farewell to the 60-days returns! smile.gif

From now on, it is 30-days for elite and 45-days for elite plus members. How smart of these guys to use "elite" to imply you get more benefits than the previous premier silver, while you are actually getting less!

Same here, I was scratching my head and thinking the same thing.

1+. I watched a lot of football over the weekend. Kids watch Nick jr etc all the time. I have been lucky not to see any IR yet. Have a fairly large family room and from where we sit the fan is inaudible.

Picture is simply extraodinary. Even my non-tech savy wife said so. To my eyes close to or at times better than RS55 I have downstairs. Very impressed!!!

Thanks for posting your calibration comments. I've added a link to your post in the flat panel (post number two) lists that are linked in the signature area at the bottom of my post.

Sorry for the delay in linking your post, but we were on our 50th wedding anniversary honeymoon trip. We came home to find rice scattered in interesting locations around our house. It remains to be seen when we will find the last of it. biggrin.gif

D-Nice has posted ST60 settings at AVS, but so far none of the other 2013 models.

I wonder how the st60 settings would look on the Zt60?

Like a fat chick trying to wear Jennifer Lopez tight dress. I don't think it would look the same. biggrin.gif

Probably not bad, but definitely not as good as having your own particular unit calibrated. Those settings aren't necessarily accurate for all ST60s, just the one he calibrated. I'd be curious to know how D-Nice's ST60 settings compare to Katzmeier's ZT60 settings.

My 65ZT60 has just started showing this same band on the extreme right side of the screen, just inside the frame. It appears almost as three faint thin vertices lines at times but then at other times almost as a faint solid band. It's strange because at times it's not noticeable at all and at others it is. I watched a standard DVD yesterday and couldn't see it at all even when looking for it but then I put in There Will Be Blood on blu ray and during any scene that had blue sky in the background it was plainly visible. I've seen it on other bright content as well but it either comes and goes in varying degrees or I'm losing my marbles. When I do see it I see it on all inputs. I have a 55VT30 that has never had a problem and was confident the ZT wouldn't either but you've got this issue and apparently so do I as well as the others you mention in your post.

Have you figured out what it is/was and have you had it corrected somehow?

Has anyone else had this issue and/or know what it is and what it'll take to correct it?

Thanks for any and all positive responses.

That vertical band is fairly common and may fade over time.
Can I amend your statement and state that it "should" fade? wink.gif I had it in the first 100 hours but at well over 500 hours, there is no trace of it (though I do now have a naughty pixel that my OCD tendencies won't allow me to unsee mad.gif).

I too had the very same band along the right edge, but it was only visible when I was running slides. I couldn't see it with regular content then or now.

May fade, should fade. Tomato, tomato. It shouldnt be there to begin with.
I just dont want the guy thinking it will fade and then be mad at me later if it doesnt.

Too few samples to make any definitive conclusions, but I understand your tact in playing it safe.

I appreciate all replies gents. On my set it's the strangest thing in how it's sometimes visible and at then at other times completely invisible even when I'm looking for it up close to the screen. When it is visible it's distracting as all hell even though it is pretty faint in appearance (for lack of a better term).

I got my set broken in for 300 hours with slides then fully calibrated at the dealer before I even picked it up and when I first got it, these lines (band) were not there. I remember a moment a day or two after I got the set that had a full white screen in a commercial and I remember thinking, wow, perfect. No flaws in the screen and although the lines are not very dark, I certainly would have noticed them if they were there. So, they appeared after some normal use.

I'm hoping whatever it is goes away as it has for some of you guys but just in case it doesn't or (gulp!), in case it gets worse over time I called Panasonic and got a case started. I told them I'd wait to see if it works itself out and if not I'd call them back. They seemed very willing to have somene come out if need be and the guy I got on the phone was very helpful so that's good at least.

Other than this band that isn't always even visible, I'm in love with this set. It's everything I hoped it would be but I have to agree with the previous post that these sets shouldn't be having these issues. Then again, nothing is perfect and I suppose it could be worse, it could have been DOA like some others have experienced.

I hope you all are enjoying your ZTs as much as I'm enjoying mine, minus the occasionally visible band of course.

You're at over 300 hours and it's still there? I would say the likelihood of it vanishing on your set has diminished greatly since, based on what I've read and from personal experience, it typically disappears within the first 100 hours.
I'm noticing the vertical banding on the right side on scenes with a white screen. Otherwise, no IR at all. Been watching mostly full screen content on HBO and Blu-Ray but also sports and PS3 gaming. Wondering if the screen wipe would help. I've ran it a few times but very briefly.

Yes, while the panel does have over 300 hours on it, I'm not sure exactly how many it has now that I've been using it regularly for just over three weeks.

It was run in for the 300 hours using slides then calibrated by D-Nice before I ever laid eyes on it. I'm sure D-Nice would have seen the band if it was there when he calibrated the set and that he would have told the dealer who most likely would have sent the unit back or whatever and I would have gotten a different set.

When I got the set home and started watching it, this band was not there (or maybe it just wasn't apparent enough to be noticed, I don't know), it appeared maybe just under a week ago after two weeks of usage and it is so light (faint) that I don't always see it even when looking for it while watching various content but the times that I have seen it, it distracts me. Also, sometimes its there, sometimes its not even on bright material which is when it shows the most at the times it does seem to appear. So I'm hoping that whatever it is works itself out soon. Otherwise I'll simply call Panasonic back and schedule a service call. Considering the cost of this set and the fact that it is billed and is otherwise performing as the "Reference" TV, I shouldn't have to deal with any screen defects. No defects at all actually.

Again, my thanks to all forum members who replied.
Yea, keep on them if it doesn't disappear. I have that errant pixel that developed 3 months into ownership. I am not expecting Panasonic to do anything about it, but I will be looking out for more defects before my warranty period expires (and probably grab an ext. warranty from Costco while I'm at it).
