I myself got have a 65VT60 and have gotten the fan noise fix. Before the fix I didn't find the noise as bad as some of the more extreme cases of buzzing that I have heard. Since I got the fix, the fan noise is more than tolerable now. My panel does have an audible buzz on brighter scenes though, nothing terrible but it is there.
I don't want to ruffle anyone feathers, but I think IR is a problem with these sets. I absolutely love the picture my VT60 produces, but I do have some regrets getting it due to the IR. I watched a mere half of football (maybe 2 hours worth) on FOX last Sunday, and had IR from the score board in the form of a thin line gong across the screen. This line was clearly visible over content, such as commercial with a lighter background or any other lighter scenes. It took an hours worth of the built in screen wipe to reduce it ( not eliminate) to where it was not visible over regular content. It would have been worse and has been in the past had I watched more than a half of football.
Not sure if you will do any gaming , but if you do you'll want try and get used to turning a lot of the HUDs off in games. I had played maybe 10 hours worth of ACIV on the PS4 over the course of 5 days and got IR from the health bar and some of the bright white HUD elements. I thought was being careful by keeping my contrast lower and actually running the screen wipe for 90 minutes when I went to bed after each playing session. Needless to say, that didn't help and I still got IR that still hasn't totally gone away. It's not visible over content anymore, but still there if I look for it. I have since turned off the HUDs that have anything that is bright white.
All of this is my contrast set between 50 and 60.
