For break in?
I can't remember, is there an HBO logo regularly displayed during programming? If not, I can't imagine there being a problem.

No, HBO doesn't usually have the logo during content.

Because it is within the 60 day BB Silver Preferred member return window, just the $540 difference in MSRP prices. I have to dismount the tv myself though in order to avoid a $150 uninstall charge. Considering how heavy the vt60 is that is not as easy as it sounds. Will def have to get some help, but at least I have the VT to watch for two weeks until I get the ZT.

Running slides has no benefit over full screen content. The only real point of running slides, "breaking in" a TV, is to prepare it for calibration.

I do plan to have my ZT60 calibrated after 300.
Wish I could get the slides to work. Ohh well.
It will be close I hope!

Even after only one day of running the ZT60 I have to say
This TV has crazy good black levels!
I looked all over, but where does one get the break-in slides?

They seem to just do all their movies 1:85 with no letterbox.

One quick photo of my ZT60. Not the greatest photo! Gives you some idea though.
Great blacks on this TV.

This is a better photo of the 65" ZT60
Great picture on this TV considering it only has a little more than 24 hrs on it.

^Looking good, best one yet!

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm not an owner yet, but wanted to ask you guys, how's the 3D performance? Panny has modified the active glasses this year and given them more surface area - can the 3D glasses be comfortably worn over regular glasses? The last question may seem weird, but I have had good experience in the past with Samsung 3D glasses, so doesn't hurt to ask. Worst case scenario, I can put on my contacts for 3D stuff.

Ultimately, I'm pretty envious of everyone who's already enjoying the deep blacks.

So far this tv is stunning. I definitely notice a difference in the blacks over the VT50. I have no banding what so ever. I am extremely happy! I love this tv. I watched the results of the shoot out and was originally concerned with what was being said about the brightness. I am having no issues with brightness at all in my room. I have large patio doors to the right of my tv. No concerns!

Yeah I'm coming from a 50g20 and this 65 is MUCH brighter, even my not as picky friends are noticing. Sorry I haven't updated the posts like I said I would, we started watching avengers and got sucked in

How does it compare in brightness with the VT50? Is it a small leap in picture quality overall or just the blacks? I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade from my 65VT50. Thanks.

How are people feeling about room reflections on the ZT60 while playing content? I have the VT60 and its like a black mirror as far as reflections go and for this I'm considering exchanging it for a ZT.

What reflections? That is the biggest thing that I am in awe of with this TV. It eats reflections for breakfast, I have a window directly opposite of the tv. It doesn't care...

Question to you guys that's been in the loop. I read from various sources the zt60 will be limited in production but is that a worldwide thing or just in Europe (most of the source articles). I have a VT50 that I purchased months ago mounted that's had about 30 minutes of run time on it since I've been busy with the movie and haven't setup the main theater. Just need to know for planning purposes if I need to pick one up for reserve later. Great looking tv from the shootout.

An insider on another forum said there will be less than 100k ZT's made worldwide. So I'd say get em while they are hot

The ZT60 does a great job with reflections.
If you have a reflection issue with the VT60
I'd exchange for the ZT60.

What seemed to be the problem?

I have a window on the opposite wall that reflected fiercely. Also, not sure if the ZT is the same but fan noise on the vt is annoying although my 5.1 audio covers it up once turned up (my tv is mounted on the wall) but its definitely a loud running tv. I also had a lot of faint DSE/vertical banding even after running slides for over 100 hrs., I could see faint lines on panning scenes on the whole screen from top to bottom. I'm hoping with the thinner ZT, it will help with fan noise. The no air gap design also sounds like a good investment. The only thing im wondering is if the ZT is less bright then the VT. I felt that the vt in a completely dark room looked awesome (aside from the DSE) but in day light , reflection and brightness was not up to par. What are your guys thoughts on DSE, filter, brightness and fan noise on the ZT? Does it sound like most (if not all) of my issues will be addressed going to the ZT?

What was the problem with BB?

In a nut shell. I returned 1 sharp elite and two vt60s. They made me sign a "return warning" saying I can't return anything for 90 days. The store manager was very rude. I didn't raise a fuss, I just returned and walked out.

I see. I thought you had returned several tvs.
