Haha no need to brace...just praying it gets here in good shape. Haven't heard good about CEVA so I'm hoping they just happen to be on the crap end of the stick and Amazon is really culprit for all these broken panels people were getting with CEVA.

My 65VT came from them but I believe it was closer...this is coming from CA. My experience is A+ so far but I know how delicate this TV is. Can't wait to pop in Avatar on this mother

Yea me too...I don't think it will be damaged in just praying it's not. Also I have seen a few report dead pixels...is this an issue for the ZT, or is it the same risk just like for any TV?
There's not enough evidence to suggest it's worse than any other panel ever mass manufactured (had one on the first Kuro I ever purchased as well, more noticeable than the one visible on my ZT60 from 4, maybe 5 feet out).

Sorry just feel there's so much to check when the ZT is delivered. Well the thread makes it seem that way

Wasn't a fan of how Panny packs up the VT60. I remember KUROS having like 10 pieces just to hold them steady. Was like a fortress in that box...I remember first getting the VT60 and there was only a piece of adhesive on the bottom (was used to this being on all four sides from any TV I purchased but I never had a Panny) so I thought it was used. Plus the packing seemed so simple for such a high prices item, not KURO priced but high price. But rest assured it was normal packaging.

Anyone get their set with CEVA seems like PILOT did the most round here! Dead pixels is really only my main concern since separation seems random as well as the fractures which was do mostly to panel removals and that also was a small percent. My VT60 has the fan fix and still makes noise but that's the least of my worries and no one is touching this set anyway.

Will report back once it arrives. No irrational posts I promise lol. Prolly
Going to pick up the Sony S5100 blu ray player...good choice?

I wish i had kept my Pioneer packing, too.

BTW: I have 2 S5100s. They're pretty decent. My main transport is an Oppo, though.

No, that's the point of THX mode. If you want to tinker, use cinema mode. It's a very similar starting point.

Soooo has anyone checked out gravity yet?

I just started running slides on my ZT60 and am pretty excited.

I moved my Pioneer into my master bedroom. It's a 7G pre-KURO with 17,192 hours on it. Still running--no problems!

Made a couple observations on manufacturing locations:

Hecho en Mexico? Really? WTF?

Some of you need to come off your high horses!
yeah..they all come from Mexico..going to break my heart but I am selling my built in Japan 9th gen Kuro 111fd and replacing it with a 60" ZT60

You weren't happy with the black levels on your VT60 but then swap it out for a TV with the same exact measured black levels in a darkened room. rolleyes.gif

Don't know what your expecting to accomplish except obsessing over a whole other set of issues that you will probably find on this T.V.

Good luck, you deserve a good night's rest one of these days with the torture you put yourself through.

No, but it's on my list. I image the black levels will be awesome smile.gif

No, but Bad Grandpa looked good. The restaurant scene had just the right brown level.

Does anyone know how I can see which app have updated?
You know when I look at the built quality of the Kuro vs the ZT60 what a difference the Kuro is built like a tank the ZT looks so cheap by comparison!

I love the picture on the ZT but I can see why it has so many problems with micro fracture and all!
There are even parts of my six year old Panasonic plasma that are built better than my ZT60.

But hey, look at how relatively cheap the ZT60 street prices were just a few months ago compared to Kuros back in the day.

It's not out yet to the general public but there are a few forum members like Ralph Potts who have...

if you were disappointed with the vt60 then you will see the exact same "problems" in your zt, excluding the panel, dat anti-reflective screen. I think you should be looking for a used Sharp Elite or wait for OLED.wink.gif I am not sure what your thought process is behind switching all these displays considering their equal specs, you wouldn't even like a 9.5g Kuro. With that said, inb4 you complain about this one and may the power of rustled jimmies flow through you forever.

As great as the Sharp ELITE seems it's still an LCD and that's a no go. Also OLED is wayyyy to expensive and I want something now not 5 years from now. Also I have a 5020 and love it but my VT60 doesn't seem to be giving me what I saw on the ZT either. Btw I would live a 9.5G Pioneer...I wouldn't be here if I could.

no two ways about it, my Kuro' build quality is outstanding. I have an 8 year old panny that is also quality built and from Japan. The cheaper lighter build of today's tv's is the only thing having me nervous about the ZT that is being delivered.Unfortunately, that's how they all are. I would hate to think what a ZT would cost if it was built like a Pioneer.

I have lost count of how many times you have changed your mind about the VT - last week it was great. My suggestion is either enjoy it or dump it and go back to your 5020. Save your $ for OLED or maybe the great black hope of 2014 from Vizio if it ever comes out and lives up to the hype.

Selfmade should have his own thread made and that should be the only thread he is allowed to post in. That way if others want to read about his story of the day they can go into his thread and the owners threads to not get effected!

True, but there is a difference between "assembled" and "made". The parts are made in Japan and shipped to Mexico for assembly due to the cheap labor and I am sure various import NAFTA implications. So it comes down to how much skill do you really need to snap in some boards and cables and tighten some screws.
